Reasons for Joy

Avery's POV

Someone is in a good mood" my mom said

"What?...who me?

"Yes, you don't even pretend, since you came back home you've been grinning like a Cheshire cat" she said

"I spoke to my mate and Claire and I are friends again, my life is going great mom," I said joyfully

"I'm happy for you dear" she responded

"Thanks, mom" I replied

The last few weeks have been incredible and I was moving in with my mate today which was long overdue if I'm being honest. He was the absolute best, he was kind caring and everything I'd ever want in a partner and I was more than eager to complete the mating process.

"The car's here" my mom yelled

As I struggled to get one of my bags out of my room, I saw my mate standing there giving me a look of disapproval

"Why are you so stubborn? I told you I was going to help you move your luggage"

"Yeah I left the bigger one for you, it's a division of labour" I replied smiling

"You are something else," he said laughing.

After we finished putting my things into the car. I bid my parents goodbye then we left.

Getting to the pack house I saw all the servants were out to welcome me

"As some of you already know this is Avery, my mate and the new Luna please treat her with respect and be loyal to her"Axel commanded

"I walked up to his parents" and greeted them. I've actually met his parents several times the first time was kind of awkward well for me actually but his family was nice and down to earth that they made me feel so welcomed and comfortable. Hello Mitchelle I said turning to Axel's sister

"Hey, Avery welcome" she replied leaning in for a hug

"Thank you so much" I replied

Walking in and looking around my surroundings I was shocked. I've always known the pack house was beautiful but I've not actually been inside. Now that I was seeing the house, it exceeded all my expectations."Wow" I gasped

"Welcome home baby,"Axel said wrapping his arms around me.

"I'm happy to be here with you" I replied

"What else is happening" I asked noticing that things were being moved around

My parents moved out before you arrived, they are actually vacating the house for us and in a few days time, we will officially be in charge of the pack.

I really wanted to finish the whole process and be with Axel but the whole thing sounded a bit overwhelming. Noting my facial expression he whispered "Don't worry baby we are in this together "

"When I become Luna I still want to be active I don't want to just stay home and give birth to pups"

"I won't have it any other way," he said

"How did I get so lucky to have such an amazing mate?" I asked

"Same question I ask myself everyday," Axel said giving my forehead a kiss

"You guys are gonna make me sick, just stop" Michelle cried out

Everyone burst out laughing

We decided to have dinner together before Axel's parents left for their own home

"Dinner was nice" I said as we walked into our bedroom. I'm still getting used to the idea of sharing a room though but I want to be with him.

"Yeah it was but I'm so glad they are gone" I was tired of them being here

"Axel!" I said smacking him....."Your parents are very nice. I was talking to your mom about the duties of a Luna, she was so nice and calm in explaining everything and she seems to have a lot of faith in me"

"So do I "he whispered

I just realized the proximity between us and somehow I forgot everything I was going to say. He was staring down at my 5 ft 6 frame. "Is it too early to ask if I can kiss you? "he said with a low voice

"No" I whispered

Then I felt his lips on mine, I think I saw stars. I felt his hands on my waist and it felt like I was on fire, his lips are softer than everything I've ever known, the kiss didn't last very long, he pulled away and smiled at me

"You are strong, kind, and caring those are qualities of a good Luna, so I know you can do it," he said sweetly

I walked towards the bed in the room and sat on it still thinking about the kiss when I looked to find his shirtless back facing me, I blushed more, I guess when I had agreed to share a room I didn't think about it thoroughly. He didn't even pay any attention to me he just walked into the bathroom. As I sat there I was in a state of panic; was I going to be comfortable sleeping here, Were we going to get physical tonight, many couples usually have s*x the night they meet so I won't blame him if he asks but I'm not ready. My thoughts were interrupted when he walked out of the bathroom. He was ripped, I mean it's obvious that he worked out especially since he went to that training camp, he had muscular shoulders and six pack leading to a deep v-line where it disappeared under the towel. Don't blame me I couldn't control my gaze. Looking back up at his face, his disheveled and damp black hair fell in his face and he was wearing a smirk

" You like what you see mate?" He said

Embarrassed that I had been caught I blushed and turned away from him

"No need to be shy, my love this is all yours to stare at any time you please"

"Whatever I want to go to bed" I mumbled

"Without having a bath" he questioned

" I will have a bath" I replied standing up...."Axel are we going to do something today"

"Something like what," he asked

"Like I mean, complete the mating process" I said slowly

"I would love to but I'm not going to rush you, I'll be ready whenever you are"
