Why the hell did so much stuff have to happen in under a week? It hasn't even been a full week since Alexander dropped the bomb and now he is here. What the hell else is gonna happen before my birthday? Will I get superpowers? Become the queen of something? Or are my parents gonna magically reappear?
"I am he, sweetheart."
Coming up out of my thoughts, I turned my head in the direction of the voice and came face to face with... Mark.
Wow, it's been a full year since I last saw him, and it seems like life has not been good for him. His once-flawless face had scars all over it, making his green eyes stand out against his now tanned and scarred skin. His shabby black hair was resting at his shoulder. He was wearing a black shirt with the sides cut out showing off his muscles and abs. He had four other people with him, and one of them was Ashley, who was staying in the far back of the group. She looked the same, except for the fact that her eyes resembled mine when I was still in the pack. Hopelessness, fear. I wondered what has caused that, and even though I should feel like she deserves it, I wouldn't wish that on anyone to feel that way.
"Mark, what the f**k is your reasoning behind this?" Alice said, taking a step towards him, but was stopped by the growls of the wolves Mark held onto by a chain around their necks.
•Ash, those wolves' humans are no longer present; it seems like the wolf has locked the human up to keep them safe, and from seeing what they had to do to survive.•
•Damn, so there's no way to save them?•
•Sadly, no.•
You could see their ribs poking out of their sides; they looked starved. I silently cried for them; those poor people lost to their wolf side to survive.
"Oh dear sister, did your little Ash not tell you what she told me?" He looked at me with hatred, and I back at him.
"So what, you couldn't wait or something? Or did you not want me to grow stronger then you?" I asked him. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Ashley inch little by little away from them. He must have seen it too.
"Ashley, come here." He motioned towards her, and if I'm not mistaken, I saw her flinch at those words. "See Ash, this is why you will never become a Luna; they obey what they are told to do." He gripped the back of Ashley head and kissed her.
•Ash, let me out and I'll rip him a new as-•
•Ace, stop that, and no, not yet. We will get our turn and teach him a lesson together.•
"Anyways," he released Ashley, and she rushed back to the back of the group. "I declare war against the Blackwood pack." Everything was dead silent as he spoke. No one even dared to breathe. "A year from now on this day, April 23, in the great Mountains of Devast, there is a field. We will meet there. Bring your best fighters and I will bring mine. It will be a fight to death, winner takes all. Oh, and as you said, may the best woman win, Ash." Mark chuckled, eyeing the group before he started to turn around, but then a big blue ball came rolling into the middle of the two groups. Right behind the ball was the little girl in the green dress.
"Haha, my ball, I got you," the little girl said, picking up the ball.
I could see Mark turn around with a sick smile, and he looked at the girl, who was facing away from him, then at the wolves. I knew exactly what he was about to do.
"Get the gir-" Before I could finish, Mark let the chains go, freeing the snarling wolves to run to the girl, but luckily, Ollie made it in time to push the girl out of the way. In turn, he was caught on the worst end, because right when he pushed her, the wolves were on him, ripping at his shoulder and leg.
Bang
Bang
"Call the doctor!" Nicholas yelled as the crowd of people grew, after putting his gun up and rushing to his mate. Ollie had chunks of his shoulder gone, and his leg was twisted back in an abnormal shape, with so much blood seeping out, coating the ground with red. My heart was hurting so much at the sight, and I just had to turn away, and when I looked to where Mark had been, he was gone; disappeared from the scene he caused.
"Ollie, stay awake for me. Please baby, I need you, don't leave me." Nicholas's cries could be heard as the truck that had come with the doctor drove away. I couldn't bare to follow, so in my place Alice went alone with them, tears falling from both of our face as we parted.
"Ash," Jasper said, coming up behind me, pulling my body into his; that little comfort he gave me caused me to break down.
"I-is he go-going to make it? There was so much blood." I was frantic; my best friend was sitting in a hospital fighting for his life, and I couldn't do anything about it. Revenge was now on my mind. Revenge stopped my tears from falling down my face, revenge caused me to push away from Jasper and square my shoulders. Revenge that Mark will pay with his blood.
"Of course he will; they are going to fix him, and he will soon be back at your side, annoying the hell out of you."
I cracked a smile at his words.
"I will get revenge, Jasper, and I hope Mark is prepared for the consequences of his actions. I won't be satisfied until his blood is on my hands." I looked into his eyes as he looked back at me. Determination was reflected back to me through his eyes.
"I know, I know, and we will get that. One year from now, you will get your wish. One year from now, we will have an army that will defeat Mark and anyone else that chooses to stand in our way. But right now we must rest and train. And who knows, you just might have to get behind Ollie in terms of killing Mark."
I rolled my eyes and turned towards the now-dead wolves. Jasper was always one to cheer someone up, and that's what I needed right now. Picturing my life without Ollie in it was hard; he was my rock, and now my rock was laid up in a hospital.
"Let's get through with this and go to the hospital," I said, bending down to look at the human faces of the wolves. It was so shocking to see this happen to fellow wolves. Even in their human forms, they looked sickly, from the visible ribs to the bruises and markings that took over their chests; it was horrible, and their faces... wait, their faces.
"Jasper," I whispered, taking in the faces.
"What?"
"These are just regular wolves; they are Omegas."
"I don't get it; what about it? What makes them special for being Omegas?" Jasper came up behind me and took in their state of being.
"In the pack, I was the only Omega for about three years." I looked up at him. "After the twin Omegas decided to leave the pack and go rogue. These two are those twins; they were presumed missing, and never to be seen again. So for them to be here and with Mark means that they never left the Pack. What if everyone that tried to leave the pack was taken like them? And turned into this?" I looked back at one of the boys and gasped; as his eyes were open, and he was staring at me. Jasper pulled me back behind him, quick as lightning, putting enough distance between us and them.
"Please kkkiiilll mmmeee..." the boy said, reaching out with his hand towards us.
"Pppleaseee enddd mmmyyy suuufferinnng."
With out a second thought, Jasper pulled out his gun.
Bang.
Bullet straight through the forehead. There now laid two lifeless bodies. The air felt heavy, no laughter was heard throughout the town; only mourning for the death of fellow wolves. The air smelt of death and blood; it was a day of terror and pain, one that will soon be repeated on another day at another time. I looked again to where Mark's group had stood, and a piece of paper that I didn't spot before caught my eye. I went over, picked it up, and read it.
Help Me Please
"Jasper, I wonder which one from Mark's group wrote this?" I showed him the paper.
"I don't know, but I have a feeling we will soon find out. Come, let's see about Ollie." Jasper steered us away from the scene, leaving the guards on hand to take care of the bodies.
