After telling the guys what happened to me and calming Nicholas down from his rage festival where he punched a tree, breaking it in the process, Alpha Knight decided it was time for us to head home, seeing it was now two, and the Ball ends at three. We broke through the trees to see Alpha Donovan and Mark at the front door talking, and it looked like Alpha Donovan was pissed off. We made our way over to them, as that was the only way in for us to enter the castle.
"Good evening," Alpha Knight said, making our presence known.
"Oh, good evening, I see your fellow man has found their mates, and one of them is my daughter," he replied with a smug look on his face as he looked to Ollie and finally me; as I was standing in between Alpha Knight and Ollie.
"I see you have found our Omega. I hope she isn"t causing you any problems? Come Ash, it is time you start helping clean up," Alpha Donovan said, trying to make a grab at me, but was stopped by the five growls of Alpha Knight, Ollie, Nicholas, Alice, and Distrime.
Alpha Donovan backed up in shock at the reaction.
"What is--"
"Ash Voltair is now a part of my pack, so if you or one of your pack members lay a hand on her, I will start a war against you."
Gasp
"I-we would never do th-"
"Stop right there, before you finish that lie," Alpha Knight said, pushing past him, leaving him to his thoughts as to why an Alpha would take a weak Omega under his wing. Mark had stepped aside, but I could feel his sickening gaze on me the entire time as we made our way past the ballroom and towards the stairs. Alice and Ollie"s stuff was in Alice"s room. I was gonna put my stuff in there, but feared that if I did, it would come up missing; so before Alpha Knight made to go up the stairs, I stopped moving.
"Umm, my stuff isn"t up there," I announced with my head down.
"Where is it then?" Alpha asked, looking at my fidgety form.
"I-it"s in the dungeon."
I looked up at him through my hair that fell in my face, and saw him clenching his teeth together. The other couples had already gone up the stairs, so it was just us in the hall way.
"They have you sleeping in the dungeon."
I nodded my head.
"Come on then," he said, letting out a breath. Me too, since I was holding my breath because I was scared of his reaction. I turned around and headed to the back of the house towards the dungeon doors. When you open the door, it is scary as hell picture a pitch black room so dark that you can"t even see the stairs after the fourth one.
"Umm, if you want you can stay up here; I already packed my bag and just got to grab it." I offered; descending before he even replied, being careful of where I walked.
I decided to leave the light off, since I didn"t really need it, and walked to my bed to collect my stuff. As I turned around to leave, something flashed before my eyes. I turned around to see what it was the moon casting a small bit of light, letting me make out a shape of a person who seemed to be made out of complete darkness.
"W-who"s there?" I asked, not taking my eyes off of it.
•Aaassshhh• it moaned out my name, but I don"t see how when its mouth didn"t move.
•Aaasshh• I backed away until my back hit the wall and it was a few feet away from me.
•Aaasshh wwee aree coommeing forr youuu• it said before rushing at me.
I screamed like I never screamed before, making Alpha Knight rush down the stairs to see my trembling form on the floor in a corner.
I gasped as it felt like something hot touched my back, making me arch forward to get away from the heat. It disappeared once Alpha Knight clicked on my lamp, and a burst of light fell upon the room causing all the shadows to disappear.
"Ash, what"s wrong? What happened?" he asked, looking at me, trying to find the cause of my scream, but came up with nothing.
"I-I saw s-s-something in t-t-the d-d-dark," I stuttered. Even though I knew it wasn"t there. He probably did not believe me, but I didn"t care at the moment. All I wanted to do was get away from this dungeon, and bury this part of my life away forever. So with the last of my strength, I pushed myself up, grabbed my suitcase, and made my way towards the door with Alpha Knight trailing behind me.
*Unknown POV*
Unknown to both Ash and Alpha Knight was that she was just marked by an unknown force; or the fact that they were being watched from the darkest part of the dungeon in a corner as they left.
•Master it"s time to leave• said the shadow that terrified Ash.
•Yes I do believe so• the Master said, licking the hand that touched Ash back.
Chuckling, he turned away from the place with a few last words.
•Until next time, Ash Voltair.•
Ash POV
I was sitting in the front seat of Alpha Knight"s Mercedes, looking out the window as the place I once called Hell zoned pass me.
"I will show them who they messed with. I won"t be the helpless weak Omega they once thought; I"m gonna become strong and show that pitiful excuse of a mate what he missed out on." I whispered to myself as I recalled the last words I told Mark before we left.
~~Rewind~~
We were leaving the house when Mark step out. I stopped and let the others go ahead of me. I looked at my suppose to be mate; as he looked at me the tension was heavy in the air; it felt like I would suffocate in it if I stayed here any longer.
"You know, I never would have thought that you would be this low. It"s one thing to abuse me, but to regret me on top of it is harsh as hell. Shut up and let me finish," I said, as he was about to open his mouth. With this new found freedom I found alittle bit of confidence in it. "If I become no when I become stronger, I will rage war against this pack. Against you and your b***h. On that day, we will settle the problem that had formed between us. And may the best woman win, since you don"t have any balls to acknowledge you"re wrong."
I left after that, slamming the door behind me, right before the strength left my body, causing me to stumble as I walked to the car.
~~Present time~~
I turned away from my past, burying it in the back of my head since it can"t disappear, and save it for a time of when I become stronger to handle the memories. Now in my vision, all I see is my new future.
Unknown to Ash and her friends was that a new future and adventure was headed there way sooner then they thought.
~~1 Year Later~~
"Ash!"
Bang.
Bang.
I rolled over in bed, prepared to ignore the sound of pounding on my door.
"Ash!"
I heard, instead of a the pixie voice of Alice, it was much more deeper and sexier. I hopped out of bed to unlock the door to see Alice and Alpha waiting behind it, already dressed for training, unlike me, who was still in pajamas: a long marvel t-shirt and shorts that I may have stole out of Ollie and Nicholas"s room.
"After all this time have passed, you would have thought to notice I don"t like mornings; especially not at 6:00 am." I said, letting them in.
I could feel the hard stare of the Alpha on my body, making me flush with heat. Lately, I have been feeling drawn towards him. I don"t know why though.
"Well, that sounds like a personal problem to me," Alice said, before dropping down on my bed, while the Alpha leaned against the door frame.
"Anyways, give me ten minutes," I said, rolling my eyes at her before grabbing my black tights and sports bra and made my way to the bath room.
I lived in the Alpha house, along with the Beta and Gamma. Over the past months, our friendship grow; Distrime and Nicholas was there for me when I wanted to give up and quit. I even found out why Nicholas punched the tree that night. When he was 16, he use to live beside a girl that family beat her, and one night she called him to help her, but he was to late. When he made it, he found her dead in her bathroom. Blood ran down her wrist where she cut herself. So now he sees me as a second chance, and is making it his business to help me reach my goal. But now Distrime, on the other hand, boy was he a handful, he loved pushing me past my limit when it was his turn to train me. To be honest, I believe that he just liked to see me suffer but still have determination set in my eyes; but I knew he did what he had to do to keep me going.
When we came here a year ago, the Alpha demand (after I keep trying to tell him I was okay in a hotel) that I stay in the pack house with my friends. I made my room the farthest down the hall, because the last thing I wanted was to hear the lovey-dovey mates mate. I looked at myself in the mirror after pulling on my clothes. In the last 6 months, I have build up my muscles to were I now have a six pack and was one of strongest fighters in the pack. I was serious when I said I was not going to be the weak Omega I once was.
Training day in and day out in both my human form and wolf form got me here. Ollie and Alice was there for me through it all, helping me build my confidence level up little by little. Even though there were still days I would look in the mirror and recall my old weak self. I was able to see that even though I was weak, I wasn"t at the same time. If it was someone else in my position they would have ran away and become a rogue or committed sucide; not me though I was going to fight through the pain and suffering with the hope of a better life on my mind.
•I know what you mean Ash, we have come a long way from who we used to be• Ace said. Me and Ace bond grew also, she talks to me more then she has ever done. We can thanks Alpha for that though. About three months ago he had taken me to the mountains and left me there. In the middle of nowhere with only the cloths on my back to keep me warm against the cold winter to find my way back to the pack house. Even though I still want to kill him for it, he help me and Ace grow closer from the experience.
"Hurry up in there," said the newly arrived Distrime.
"I"m coming, I"m coming." I opened the door and stepped out, the Alpha"s eyes on me the whole time.
"Well, let"s go," he said, turning around, leading the way to the kitchen and us behind him.
"Good morning Ash," Ollie said, kissing me on the lips before hearing a growl come out of both the Alpha and Nicholas. Now that had eyes shooting towards them.
"Sorry Ash, case of habit," Nicholas said, as Ollie glared at him.
Alpha, on the other hand, was staring at us with a frown on his face. Usually he didn"t make anything out of it, and would always laugh at Nicholas, but not today. He got up and left the room, all of us watching his departure, but for some odd reason, seeing him leave made my heart ach.
•Ace•
•Yea Ash•
•Did you feel that•
•Yes it was like a silent pull making us want to go after him•
•Do you know why•
•No but let me think one it•
"Awkward. How about we skip breakfast, and head out to the field house?" Alice said. She was always one to not like tension.
We agreed and made our way to the field house. The Black wood pack was one of the three biggest packs in America. We were known for our brutal fighting skills. We had around 400 people in the pack at the moment, and it was required that everyone train; that"s why it was determined to build a building the sized of a foot ball field. There were five parts: Nicholas - hand to hand combat; Alice - knives and swords; Distrime - guns and other weapons; Ollie - Stealth and ways to keep your presence hidden; and finally, me - lethal chemical weapons.
