*Tyler's POV*
"You are my mate." She says back quietly, almost a whisper.
She looks away from our eye lock and speaks again. "You must go. If the others find you here, they are liable to kill both of us."
Suddenly I am on alert and stand protectively in front of her. She places her hand on my shoulder.
"You must go. They will be back any time." She says to me.
"Who will come back?"
"My family. They will kill you and kill me if they find out I am your mate."
I lay eyes on a bruise on her cheek. My wolf howls in a rage. "Who did that to you?"
"My father, please go before he comes back."
"I am not leaving without you. You are my mate."
"I know, but I can't be. You will die. I will die. It is better this way." She says with tears forming in her eyes."
