Chapter 20 – Sera
His hand didn’t move, his grip was firm and steady. My wrist tingled where his fingers pressed, the heat went through my skin.
I tugged once then twice but his grip didn’t budge.
“Kael,” I tried again, my voice was now low, strained and more plea than command. “Let go.”
“No.”
I finally forced myself to look up.
His eyes… God!. His eyes pinned me like a prey he wanted, they were sharp and unblinking. His jaw was tight and his shoulders were straightened like he was holding himself back from doing… something.
“Why are you...” My throat closed around the rest of the words. Why are you stopping me? Why do you care? Why does it hurt so much to even ask? I wanted to voice all out but I couldn't.
