Chapter 11 – Sera
The door clicked shut behind me, and I barely had a second to breathe before Kael rounded on me like a storm.
“What was that?” he demanded, his voice sharp.
My back instinctively straightened. “What was what?”
“You know damn well what I’m talking about, Seth!” His tone was furious and angry, like something had snapped inside him.
I blinked, trying to play dumb, even though I knew exactly what he meant. “You mean Luca? He was just messing around.”
Kael’s eyes were dark, his expression unreadable. “Messing around? He kissed your damn forehead.”
I felt heat rush to my face. Not the flustered kind from Luca’s unexpected kiss but from panic. Because all of this was dangerous,too dangerous for me. I couldn’t afford attention, especially not like that. I was a boy for god
