Weird Occurrences

-A place unknown- “Sir the eggs, they’re beginning to hatch.” A man yelled from within the caves. Several other men made their way down into labyrinth type cavern, carrying large baskets on their back. “All nine?” A man yelled back. “Yes, all nine!” A low growl could be heard somewhere else within the cavern. But it wasn’t close. However the loud hiss that came from within the cavern they approached told them getting the babies out would be no easy task. “Easy girl, we just want to check them.” The large dragon flapped its wings furiously, letting a ball off fire out of its mouth that hit the ceiling of the cave it resided in. “I don’t think she’ll hurt them. This is the first time a female has ever been so protective, perhaps, this time around is the right one.” One of the men said. “Perhaps. But that won’t stop the other ones.” Another man said. “Or perhaps you lack the ability to not be so afraid of these beautiful beasts.” A man at the mouth of the cave came walking down, and up to the mother. His red hair braid down his back, his black scalely armor shined in the torch light that all the other men were carrying. He has this air about him, that told you he could command a whole nation. “My lord.” All the men bowed. The man was standing now in front of the mother dragon. “Please, we know you love them, but we must take them to get them ready, you know this.” He patted her nose. His red eyes looking into hers. The beautiful mother dragon, being completely white with red eyes, eyed the man up and down. But she looked away, moving her tail aside so the men could take the eggs and move them. She almost looked sad, but she couldn’t disobey him. “Thank you, Nymeria, and your rider, should be here soon.” Word would be spreading soon, that the champions would be arriving. And preparations would be begin. —— -Brown University- A month later after the party. “I told he would change his mind, and that he would make us read our writing prompts.” I sobbed to Malia. “This is a writing course, not a speech course.” The train rumbled along. “You’ll do great. I believe in you. Plus, I helped you remember? So you’ll be okay.” “Not with Claire being up front.” “Micah will be there to support you! Anyway, speaking of Micah, are you two a thing yet?” Micah. The one person I look forward to seeing everyday. We’ve been texting, going for coffee dates, and lunch dates, he’s visited me at my job with a little treat but nothing else yet. “No not yet.” I felt myself blush. “Ugh, why not? He clearly is in love with you, I mean who wouldn’t? James and I are thinking about visiting my parents during spring break.” She looked out the window dreamily. “We’re gonna have a June wedding.” She sounded exactly like Caroline Forbes from our favorite tv show, The Vampire Diaries. The train came to a halt as we got to our stop. I stood up, steadying my bag on my shoulder, and walked off with Malia linking her arm in mine in our usual fashion. “I’ll volunteer to go first in class if you want?” She said, looking at me. “We all know he’ll choose whoever goes, and I’m most likely going to be first.” I sighed. I felt a hand on my waist and looked immediately and saw Micah’s beautiful face. “Hey you ready for today?” He asks, entwining his fingers in mine. “Not even slightly.” “Oh come on, if I tell you it’s going to be great, it’s going to be great!” Malia exclaims. “There’s nothing bad Johnson can say about it, and if he does, it’s because he’s an asshole.” I sighed as we all walked into class. I took my assigned seat next to Micah, and let him look over my paper. Everyone was slowly entering the classroom, some students yawning, some clinging to their coffees as if it were a life line. At least i didn’t let this go to the last minute. I finished it two nights ago. “You know this is really good right?” He says looking me in the eye. His face dead serious. I blush. “It’s not that great. Malia really helped pick my brain apart. It wasn’t fun. But I will say this is way better than-“ But I stoppped talking when I saw a familiar glow behind Micah, at the back of the classroom. The scepter. With the blue Crystal. My eyes followed the glow. Am I asleep? “Good Morning everyone.” Mr Johnson’s voice tore my gaze away from it. Micah looked behind himself, and turned back raising an eyebrow at me. I shrugged my shoulders. “Alright let’s get right to it. I don’t want this taking more than two days to get finished. I need a copy of your work so I may follow along with you.” He stood at his podium looking around the room. And his eyes landed on me. Why am I always right? Fuck me.
