Penelope woke up with a violent jerk. Her eyes flew open. For two terrible seconds, she had absolutely no idea where she was. Then reality crashed back in. Office, desk, Dawnat, Calvin. Oh dear God. Her spine straightened immediately and she nearly knocked over her computer in panic. The office lights had dimmed considerably, leaving only the warm glow of desk lamps and the storm-muted city outside. And directly across from her, Calvin Dawson sat watching her. Penelope froze.
