Chapter 7: Shadows and Silver

359 Words
The moon had barely faded when we slipped out of the dorms and into the woods. No one saw us. No one could. This part of the forest wasn’t on any school map — and that was the point. “They’ll kill you if they find out,” I whispered to Kayden. He looked at me, serious. “They’re already planning to.” 🌲 Deep in the Forest... My mother stood waiting by an old stone altar, her hood up, her mark glowing. “You have two enemies now,” she said. “The Council… and your own fear.” She dropped a heavy leather bag in front of me. Inside were ancient scrolls, silver-bladed weapons, and a vial of something glowing blue. “What’s this?” I asked. “Power,” she said. “But it comes at a price.” 🥋 Secret Training Begins Day 1: • Kayden taught me how to track by scent — “Smell the anger. It’s stronger than blood.” • I failed. Over and over. • But he didn’t give up on me. Day 3: •My mother taught me moon energy control — “Breathe through the pain, and the light will obey.” •I burned a tree. •Then I cried. •Then I tried again. Day 5: •Kayden let me shift beside him. •Our wolves ran together under the stars. •For the first time… I felt free. ❤️ One Night... We sat by a hidden fire, silent. The kind of silence that feels full. “Why are you really helping me?” I asked him. He stared into the flames. “Because you’re not just a girl,” he said. “You’re the beginning… or the end.” His hand brushed mine. I didn’t pull away. ⚠️ Back at School... Sienna stood at the top of the stairs, eyes narrowed. “She’s hiding something,” she hissed to a shadowy figure beside her. “And I’m going to find out what.” The figure nodded. And when he turned his face toward the light… I gasped. It was the teacher I trusted most.
