I stepped out of Alyssa's dorm. I couldn’t help but let a grin spread across my face. That was easier than I thought. She actually believed me. I headed toward my car, where my twin best friends, Sofia and Sandra were waiting, their excitement clear even from a distance.
As I approached, Sandra was already tapping her fingers impatiently on the steering wheel, while Sofia was leaning forward, staring out the window in anticipation.
The moment I slid into the back seat, Sofia turned around, her eyes bright with curiosity. “So? Did Alyssa agree to give up Jake?” she asked eagerly, her words spilling out in a rush.
Sandra glanced at me through the rearview mirror, a smirk tugging at her lips. “And are you still up for the act?” she added, obviously amused by the whole situation.
