It's been a couple of days since the day that I went back to the block and had my run in with Dre. My search for Melo somewhat seized a bit, mostly because I still haven't figured out the easiest way to do it. This became almost like a game to me. And he was the prize. I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for with him but I knew there was some kind of connection there and I needed to see him again to either see if it was really there or if it wasn't, then it would be closure and I could move on. I wanted to get out the house today to get some fresh air and to look for a spot to read for a bit. Shay and her man Petey have been going at it a lot recently and it had been messing up my quiet time. They have been arguing back and forth about his typical bull. It was getting real tired, and I didn't understand why she didn’t just leave him. So I had to leave out for a few. My homegirl from school had always been telling me about this new spot that had just opened up out in Dumbo. She said it was a great spot to relax. One side was a full bar and restaurant while the other side was a quiet spot to read, chill or listen to music. I had wanted to check this place out for a while so I figure today would be the perfect day to do it. Dumbo was a whole different world then the neighborhoods I was used to. Although not my first time here , it always amazes me how different two different sides of a same Burrough can be. On one side, it's straight hood where you risk your life just be stepping outside or looking at someone the wrong way and on the other is smiling faces, skyscrapers, great smelling cologne and dogs. Lots of dogs. I found the spot and I immediately loved it. The vibe was right and the setting was amazing. The bar lit up the right side of the place with dim purple neon lights and it had mahogany colored wooden finishes. To the left of the bar were small tables cozy enough to be in the cut but also not too far away from others that you feel antisocial. The person who designed this place did a fantastic job. I regretted not checking out this place sooner. I ordered a glass of red wine from the bar and took a seat at the corner booth ready to sit back and unwind. I was a few pages into my reading, lost in thought when a familiar voice immediately grabbed my attention. “I heard you were looking for me” In shock, I raised my head to finally be face to face with the man who's been on my mind since I first laid eyes on him and who I've been looking for all this time. “Heyy” was all I was able to say at that moment. Still in shock that after all this time of hoping to run into him or hearing of some of the places he be at, it took me going to a spot out in Dumbo that my homegirl was recommending me to go to for months. After a few more seconds he said.. “For a person that was going out of their way to get in contact with me, you don't have much to say now” he said amused. My blush deepened. He looked even better than the last time I seen him..I didn't know it was possible. He was wearing an all black long sleeve shirt with matching slacks that were hugging his body just right..the thought of how it would feel to hug his body like his clothes lingered in the back of my mind. I noticed he had on a gold watch and a gold chain, nothing flashy. He looked like he belonged there. “Um, yea I was looking for you a couple days ago. I was around your way and I wanted to apologize about the other day with your car” I said making this up as I went. Truth is, I just wanted to see his fine ass again. “I'm only found when I want to be found...But we was already good… there was no beef between us so you didn't have to go out of your way to apologize” he said looking down at the book in my hands. “What are you reading?” He continued asking me genuinely. I looked down at my hands for a moment forgetting that I was even reading something. He had that type of effect on me and ever since he came into my field of view , my heart had been racing like crazy. “The alchemist” I replied while putting my bookmark on the page I was on and closing it. “That's actually one of my favorites...I read it a couple of years ago” he said back. Just then one of the bartenders came up to him and tapped him on the arm. “Hey boss, whenever you're ready, I have the accounts for you” “Iight thank you , I'll be there in a second” he replied while the bartender headed towards the back. This is his spot? Holy sh**. “Boss? This your spot?” I asked suppressing my excitement. “Yea , this is one of my spots...I always keep my eyes out for opportunities” he said confidently. “Wow, this place is amazing. I been hearing great things about it and finally decided to check it out today” I replied. And now I'm officially a faithful customer but decided not to mention that part. “Thank you, I appreciate that...But let me get back to business...I'll leave you to your reading...Enjoy your night Maya” he said lingering a bit on my name , making it sound exotic as hell. And with his deep voice & how he said it, my p**** was making puddles. Not that it wasn't already. He turned to leave not before giving me a once over and a smirk. Leaving me ready to hop on him at any second.
