Chapter Thirteen

Siara's POV

It has been five days since the vampires attacked our village. Those who survived were asked to return to their home kingdom.

My friends also returned with their families to their kingdom. We were informed that the king of Darkwood had sent warriors to ensure we returned safely. There were only seven surviving werewolves, Noah and I included.

Lucinda asked me to go with her to Celesterra, but I refused, knowing Noah wouldn't be comfortable there and there was no way I was going to leave him behind all alone.

“Sia, I am really sorry for dragging you down”, Noah said with a sad expression on his face.

“What nonsense are you talking about?I am the only family you have left, so it is only right for us to always be together”, I said while rubbing his head.

“ Thanks Sia” he said and gave me a tight hug.

After hugging me, he immediately ran to the kitchen like he remembered something important.

“It's been three days since the others returned to their kingdoms, still there is no sign of the warriors sent to rescue us” the eldest among us, a man in his forties, lamented.

“Could it be that they have already been killed by the vampires?” A girl of about my age asked.

“I think we should remain hopeful and believe in our King” I said, and the girl shot me an angry glare.

“Continue being hopeful until the vampires rip you apart” she said with a smirk.

“That's enough Ruka”, her mom immediately reprimanded her.

I don't know why she has such hostility towards me. She was Nicole's best friend and always enjoyed making fun of me with her.

I immediately smiled when I looked towards the kitchen.

‘i wonder what he is busy with.’

Before I could get to the kitchen, Noah stepped out with a bowl of shredded beef soup.

“Happy eighteenth birthday to you, Sia” he said with a happy expression.

I was stunned for a while before giving him a bright smile.

“Did you forget your birthday?” He asked with an incredulous expression on his face.

“Well…. Kind of,” I replied with an awkward laugh.

I can't believe that I forgot my birthday. This is the day that I have looked forward to all my life.

As soon as I started drinking the soup, there was a sudden rush of footsteps outside which alerted us immediately.

The three men stood up to survey the outside of the house while Noah, the mother and daughter and I, hurdled up in the middle of the room.

“They are surrounding us!” One of the men yelled, and we all tensed up.

“f*****g blood-sucking demons” of the men cursed and shifted into a big brown wolf.

The others also shifted, ready to fight it out with the vampires.

The huge brown wolf looked at the woman for a while, then turned to the other wolves.

“ He said we need to go out of the house if we have any chance of surviving”

“What!” her daughter exclaimed angrily.

“If we step out of this place, we are f****d!” She yelled at her father's Wolf.

We all prepared to run out of the house at the same time, with the wolves leading the way.

“Now!” The woman yelled, and we opened the door and ran out.

We charged out of the house and the vampires started attacking us while the three wolves were doing their best to protect us.

The woman also shifted into her wolf to fight too. I just stood in the middle with Noah. I have turned eighteen but don't know how to summon my wolf.

Suddenly, there was a flash of light and some people appeared out of nowhere. Without delaying, they shifted into their wolves and joined the fight.

I released a breath of relief.

“Sia!” Noah yelled my name, and I was horrified when I turned to where he was.

I was distracted by the appearance of these people and got separated from Noah.

“Noah!” I yelled and ran towards him.

Anger overtook me when I saw the vampire trying to rip off his head and at that moment, a voice sounded in my head.

“Let me out” the voice said, and before I could process anything, I felt my body hunch over and a deep growl escaped from my mouth.

Axel's POV

With the help of the teleporters, we got to the village where the werewolves we needed to rescue live.

As soon as we arrived, we were shocked to see several vampires attacking four werewolves. The wolves were fighting fiercely but were out numbered.

“Attack!” I commanded without delay.

We all shifted and joined in. So did the witches and centaurs.

Suddenly, I heard the scream of a boy and turned to look, but was shocked to see a beautiful girl running towards him. But what shocked me the most was when I saw her shift into the second-biggest wolf i have seen in my life. The wolf looked so ethereal with its silver gray fur and blue eyes.

She ripped the vampire apart and freed the boy. Then she ran towards the battlefield with a speed that rivals that of the vampires.

Her eyes suddenly started glowing, and she let out a deep growl, accompanied by a burst of energy which killed more than ten vampires at a go.

We were all so shocked and the remaining vampires retreated at lightening speed.

The little boy rushed up to the huge wolf and petted its head with worry, but it didn't seem to recognize him and attacked him.

The witches started chanting spells to calm her, but it seemed to have no effect on her.

We all shifted back and surrounded her to make her calm, but everything seemed not to be working.

“Everyone step back, let me try talking to her calmly” the woman said, and we all took a few steps back from the wolf.

“Siara, please calm down” the only woman present pleaded.

“Ruka, get me a wrapper from the house” she said to the girl standing near her.

“Here it is” the girl hurriedly took the wrapper.

“OK Siara, just take a deep breath and close your eyes” she instructed while holding up the wrapper.

We all turned around to give her some privacy. After a lot of coercing, she shifted back and the woman immediately covered her.

“Please can you help me take her into the house, so I can dress her up?” The woman asked. That was when I noticed that she had passed out after shifting back.

I carried her in my arms after the woman helped her dress up. We all formed a circle and the witches started chanting some incantations, preparing to take us home.

My love, I am coming home.
