Chapter six

Siara’s POV

The screams got louder and louder.

"Girls come down to the basement!" Laxmi's dad yelled at us from outside the door.

We immediately shuffled out of the room and ran down to the basement without asking any questions.

"Dad, what is happening?" Laxmi asked, and we all turned to him with questioning gazes.

"Umm.. Some deranged newborn vampires are running around wildly and attacking people in the

Village" he explained.

After hearing what was happening, we all had irritated expressions on our faces. This has become one of the most frequent occurrences over the years. Even after numerous promises by the vampire king to stop this from happening, no effective solution has been put in place.

After a few hours, the chaos finally died down.

"Let's go up to the sitting room" Laxmi's dad said, and we all followed behind him as he led us

Out of the basement.

As soon as we got to the sitting room, I felt my body go weak and everything went dark.

"Siara!"

"Sia"

All I could hear was the surprised screams of my friends before I fell into the darkness.

I had a very long dream where my parents were still alive and showering me with love and attention.

I wished I could stay in this dream and don’t have to wake up to the harsh reality of not having them with me.

When I opened my eyes again, I saw the worried faces of my friends.

‘’You finally woke’’ Laxmi breathed a sigh of relief.

‘’How long was I asleep?’’ I asked.

‘You were out for two days’’ she replied while stroking my hair lovingly.

‘’You must be starving dear’’ Aunt Sriti enters with a bowl of steaming hot fried rice.

I sat up with Laxmi’s help and her mom put a pillow to support my back. The way they care and shower me with love makes me so emotional.

‘’What’s wrong dear’’ aunt Sriti asked worriedly when she saw my tears.

‘’Thank you so much for caring for me’’ I said while hugging her tightly and Laxmi also joined in on the hug.

The emotional moment was interrupted when Lucinda opened the door.

‘’Look who finally decided to return to the land of the living’’ she said and gave my head a headache-inducing pat.

‘’Ouch!’’ I winced in pain.

‘’Be gentle’’

‘’Do you want to kill her?’’

Laxmi and her mother yelled at the same time.

‘’She is not made of plastic for crying out loud’’ she replied stubbornly

‘’But she is just recovering, now both of you should let her eat to regain her strength’’ Aunt Sriti said and left the room.

I started eating the delicious food and acted like I didn’t see my friends salivating. Laxmi looked at Lucinda and I immediately knew my food was not safe anymore, so I increased my eating speed.

‘’Hey!’’ Lucinda immediately grabbed the bow before I could finish everything and they both ate the remaining food without giving me any.

I could only stare at them aggrievedly while they made faces at me. After making sure there was nothing left in the bowl, they came to sit on the bed with gossipy eyes and I immediately guessed that something must have happened when I was sleeping.

‘’ a lot happened when you were sleeping’’ Lucinda started, and I adjusted myself to a more comfortable sitting position.

‘’You remember the attack by the deranged vampires two days ago, right?’’ she asked and I nodded affirmatively.

‘’ Jasper was killed in the attack’’ she finally disclosed, and It took me a few seconds to process what I had just heard.

‘’the funny part is that he died in the arms of one of his lovers’’ she said with a chuckle.

‘’how did you know he died in his lover’s arms?’’ I asked curiously.

‘’ the people that found his body said the vampire probably sneaked up on them, because he was found dead in bed with his d**k still in her p***y’’ she said, and we all couldn’t stop ourselves from laughing.

‘’he died in ecstasy’’ Laxmi said and we laughed again.

I really couldn’t bring myself to feel sad about his death because he wasn’t really a good person when he was alive. He was an asshole who enjoyed seeing other people in pain. I wondered how Simone was doing.

The door was suddenly opened and Aunt Sriti came in.

‘’Sia dear’’ she called, and I turned all my attention to her.

‘’Noah is here to see you, he brought your stuff’’ she said, and I immediately got off bed and ran out of the room.

‘’Noah’’ I called out to him as soon as I entered the sitting room.

‘’Sia’’ he got up from the chair and gave me a very tight hug.

‘’I missed you so much’’ he said as he released me from the tight hug and I could tell he really missed me a lot from his moist eyes.

‘’how have you been’’ I asked while walking back to the chair he previously sat on.

‘’you must have heard what happened to Jasper, right?’’ he asked, and I just nodded in reply.

‘’how is Simone?’’ I asked.

‘’ you are really too kind Sia, I mean you still care after everything she has done to you’’ he said with a sad smile.

‘’ I don’t like seeing you sad and, right now, I can tell you are really sad even though you try to hide it ‘’ I replied and rubbed his hair gently.

‘’I missed you so much’’ he finally broke down and held me in a tight embrace.

‘’ tell me what is wrong’’ I said, finding it hard not to cry.

Noah has always been very strong, and I have never seen him cry.

‘’ Simone went into shock when she heard of Jasper’s death. She has tried to kill herself several times’’ he said while I wiped his tears.

‘’ he was a total jerk and didn’t deserve her’’ he said with a hint of anger.

‘’ I think the vampires did a good thing by killing him’’ I said, trying to ease his anger.

‘’the most painful part was the condition in which he died’’ he said without hiding his disgust.

‘’ everywhere you go now, you will hear people making jokes about it. We can’t even walk around without people pointing fingers at us’’ he said sadly.

I finally understood why he was so sad. It must have been a big blow to Alaric and my Aunt.

‘’mom and dad have decided that we relocate to another village, as it will help Simone to heal faster. But mom said she doesn’t want you to come with us’’ he said and pulled out a little bag from the side of the chair.

‘’she wanted to throw them out, but I took them without her knowledge’’ he said while handing me the bag.

I opened it and found out that it contained my personal belongings. I felt so touched and hugged him once more.

‘’ looks like it is going to rain, why don’t you sleep over Noah?’’ Aunt Sriti said as she gave him a plate of steak.

‘’please, spend some time with me before you go’’ I pleaded while giving him my best adorable look.

‘’OK’’ he agreed, and I jumped up happily.

I am going to make this night memorable for both of us, as we don’t know when we will meet again.

GRAYSON’S POV

‘’ just beg me to go easy on you’’ I said mockingly.

‘’ in your dreams ‘’ Axel replied and charged at me once more.

It is very easy for me to predict his moves when he is very angry. We have been training for five hours now, because he has refused to admit defeat.

‘’ just give up already Axe’’ Raymond said out of pity for him.

‘’I know he is using all of his strength just to embarrass me’’ he sneered.

‘’ Elsa is here, are you sure that you want to continue?’’ I asked, knowing very well that he wouldn’t want to be thrown like a rag doll in front of his mate.

‘’ let’s call it a day’’ he said while grinning at him.

He walked to his mate and wrapped his arms around her like an octopus while smirking at me. I already knew what he was going to say.

‘’ babe let’s go home, some people wanted to kill me out of jealousy because they are lonely’’ he said loudly.

‘’ he is such a baby’’ Ray said and we both laughed.

‘’ when is Sasha due to deliver’’ I asked excitedly.

It is only when I am alone with my friends, Axel and Raymond, that I can really be myself without restraints.

‘’she is ….’’ He was interrupted by a pack warrior who seemed to have a message for me.

‘Your highness’’ he greeted you with a bow.

‘’ the invitation for the annual supernatural banquet has just arrived’’ he said, and handed the invitation to Raymond.

‘’ you can go back to your post now’’ I said. He bowed and left immediately.

‘’ the banquet is in four days' time’’ Ray said after reading through it.

‘’ I have a feeling that the banquet wouldn’t be very peaceful this year because the vampires have been making a lot of movements recently’’ I analyzed and Ray nodded in agreement.

‘’ we will need extra security as the vampires can be very unpredictable’’ I said, and he noted it down.

‘’ our intel said the vampire king has been meeting with the leader of the exiled coven of dark witches a lot lately, and it seems they are planning something big’’ he reported.

‘’ if they are really planning anything, we need to be ready for the unexpected’’ I said, as I couldn’t guess what they were up to, but whatever it was, it would definitely not be good. I guess we just have to wait and be prepared to face the unexpected.
