Siara's POV
"So this is your plan, right? To seduce my mate." Simone asked, as she immediately tried to get up and teach me a lesson.
"I was wondering why she dressed up so nicely, but I never expected it to be this," Nicole added with a triumphant voice.
"Calm down, girls; we still have a guest in the house." My aunt said, and I guessed she didn't want Jasper to see their ugly sides.
Jasper just continued stuffing his face with food and acting like he wasn't the one responsible for my present predicament.
"Come over here and put more food on Jasper's plate," my aunt said, but Simone immediately threw a sharp glare at me, and I immediately got the message.
"I don't want this slut close to my mate," she said, and she started filling Jasper's plate with food.
Noah came in at this moment, and he immediately looked at me. I knew he could already feel the weird atmosphere.
"Hey handsome, what do you want to eat?" I asked as I prepared to serve him with a smile on my face.
"Don't worry, Sia, I can do it myself," he replied, and he started filling his plate with the food he wanted.
"I wonder what kind of witchcraft you have used on Noah." Nicole sneered at me, probably because Noah doesn't like her very much and hardly speaks to her.
"Not now, Nicole," Alaric said with a warning gaze.
After they were done eating, I took the leftovers to the kitchen and cleaned up the dining area. I went back to the kitchen to eat the leftovers because that's what I have been eating for the past five years.
As soon as I entered the kitchen, I saw Simone standing close to the bowl of leftovers with a wicked expression on her face.
"Are you hungry, b***h?" She asked with an evil smirk on her lips. Alarm bells went off in my head immediately.
"Please, I haven't eaten since yesterday's lunch," I pleaded while cautiously approaching her.
"You can eat your food, dear; I wouldn't be so heartless as to throw it away anyway," she said, and of course I didn't believe her. After speaking, she turned and walked out of the kitchen.
I immediately ran up to the bowl of food, and what I saw made tears run down my cheeks. I couldn't even see the food in the bowl. All that was within view was a lump of wet mud. The food couldn't be eaten, and my aunt would never let me cook anything for myself.
I walked out of the kitchen and headed out of the house. When I passed by the sitting room, I saw Simone and Nicole smiling triumphantly at me. I sat under an old tree at the corner of the house.
"Sia, are you okay?" Noah asked as he walked up to me. He sat next to me and wiped my tears with his palm.
"I am okay, handsome," I lied with a choked voice.
"You are a terrible liar," he chuckled, and I couldn't help smiling through my tears. Then he put his hand behind him, and that was when I noticed he was holding something.
"What are you holding?" I asked with curiosity. He brought out a bowl of food, and I became confused.
"Didn't Simone mess up my food?" I asked as I inspected the food to confirm if it was a leftover.
"I overheard them planning to mess up your food, so I ran to the kitchen and dished out some of the food before they could mess it all up," he said, and I couldn't stop myself from giving him a tight hug. I sometimes wonder how my life would be without him.
Jasper stayed until the evening before leaving. I stayed outside the house throughout the day, just to avoid unnecessary problems, despite the chilling weather.
"Siara!" Simone suddenly screamed my name as soon as I entered the house. She matched where I was standing and angrily started pulling at my hair.
"You slut"
"You're good for nothing, little bitch."
"Jealous w***e"
She kept yelling all kinds of insults at me as she continued pulling my hair. I was trying to take her hands off my hair, but she had a very strong grip on it.
"Simone, let go of her hair," Alaric said as he pulled her hands off my hair. I ran back a few steps from her to create a distance between us.
"Dad, you don't know what she has done." She started crying and complaining to her father. My aunt came out of her room to witness this scene, and without waiting to hear what Simone wanted to say, she walked up to me and gave me a very hard slap on the cheek.
"Simone, honey, tell mother what this little jinx has done to get you so upset," she said as she pulled her into a warm hug and started wiping her tears.
"I asked Jasper why he made that comment about her," she started, and tears started spilling out of her eyes once again.
"Jasper said that every time he comes here, she always makes sensual advances at him, but he has never given her the satisfaction she craved." She continued, and I could see my aunt, Alaric, and Nicole already glaring at me without even bothering to ask me for an explanation.
"He said that when she went to market yesterday, she saw him and told him that she would be dressing up today for him." She finally ended her story and rushed towards me again with the aim of pulling my hair.
As soon as she came close enough, I forcefully pushed her backwards, so she wouldn't touch my hair. She fell and sprained her ankle.
"Ahhhhhh!!" She screamed like someone was being butchered, and they all came running to help her up.
"How dare you lay your filthy hands on my daughter?" My aunt yelled at me as she delivered another slap to my already swollen cheek.
She grabbed my wrist forcefully and dragged me out of the house. The night was already cold and windy, and there was a high chance of a heavy rainstorm.
"You are going to kneel here throughout the night, and maybe the rain will wash away some of your bad luck," she said as she forcefully pulled me down to my knees.
"Jasper lied to Simone. I swear to my parents that I have never had such thoughts about him, and I never saw him yesterday when I went to the market." I pleaded with tears streaming down my face, but my aunt just looked at me expressionlessly.
"You really think I would believe you over my daughter?" She asked while sneering at me, then turned around to go back to the house.
I cried till my head started to ache, then I heard a little commotion in the house and strained my ears to hear what was happening.
"Don't allow him to step out of that door; take him to his room and lock his door!" I heard my aunt yelling, and her voice was accompanied by Noah's crying voice.
Tears started forming in my eyes once again as I heard the one family member I have and value so much crying. I listened a little more but couldn't hear his voice anymore; they had probably locked him up again.
It started raining heavily, and I became drenched and shivering from the cold. The rain blurred my vision, and I could barely keep my eyes open. But a sudden hissing sound immediately made my nerves tense.
I squinted my eyes in that direction and saw a pair of snake eyes moving in my direction. Then I saw the silhouette of a half-human and half-snake. I immediately became afraid, as Nagas are rarely seen at night. The hissing became louder, which indicated that the creature was already very close to me.
"Moon goddess, please save me," I whispered in fear.
