Chapter Five

1066 Words
Siara's POV As soon as the figure became close enough, I breathed a long sigh of relief. "Siara, are you okay?" My best friend, Laxmi, asked after shifting back to her human form. "I am fine," I said through chattering teeth. But, of course, she didn't buy it. "I wouldn't have known if I hadn't heard that good-for-nothing Jasper bragging about it to his friends," she said, and I could tell that she was already crying. You might be wondering how a werewolf girl's best friend is a Naga. There has been a peace treaty for the past hundred years that guides the supernatural world. It has ensured the peaceful coexistence of different supernatural creatures. So it is not very shocking to see a centaur, a naga, a witch, a dragon, or a vampire when you take a walk in the village. "Please come stay with me and my parents before these heartless demons kill you someday," she said as she pulled me up from my kneeling position. I didn't even have the strength to answer her before passing out, due to a cold and tiredness. "When do you think she will wake up?" I heard a familiar voice asking. But my head felt very heavy, and my eyelids felt like they were glued. I tried opening my eyes, and after a few trials, they finally opened, but I had to shut them quickly due to the intensity of the light in the room. "Hey Sia, how are you feeling, girl?" Laxmi asked with a hint of worry in her voice. I looked around and noticed I wasn't in my tight little store room but in a big, spacious princess' room. "Uhhmm." I tried to answer but found out that my throat was too dry and painful for me to speak. "Drink some water, doll," Lucinda, my other friend who is a witch, said while looking at me with pity. "I put some herbs in it and a few drops of quick healing potion," she said, and she assisted me in lifting my neck with a pillow, so I could drink it properly. After drinking the potion, I felt slightly better, and my throat wasn't as painful as it was when I woke up. "How long have I been out?" I asked, and they both shared a look and went to sit on the bed. "You have been in a coma for a week," Laxmi said, and her voice was laced with anger. "I was so worried when you fainted; I carried you all the way to Lucinda's house as it was closer, then she teleported us to my house." She explained with tears streaming down her face, which indicated how scared she was at that particular time. "The doctor said you were malnourished and stressed," she finished explaining as I gently wiped her tears. I could also see Lucinda secretly wiping her tears. She hardly shows her emotions, and she is one of the strongest people I know. She is a pure-blood witch, so she is stronger than your regular witches. Oh, before I forget, she is a tomboy. "Can you imagine those good-for-nothing, brainless, and soulless bastards coming here to demand we hand you over to them?" She asked angrily, and I didn't need a prophet to tell me who she was referring to. I already knew my aunt and her family would never be happy with their slave gone. "You won't believe what Cinda did to them," Laxmi said with a giggle. I immediately turned to Lucinda and asked her with a raised brow. "I just made your aunt's husband's d**k go on a vacation," she said with a wicked smirk. I was still confused anyway and didn't understand what she said at all. "Ummm, I don't understand," I said while scratching my head. They both stared at me like I was an i***t. "I made his d**k disappear; the dude is literally dickless at the moment," she said with a totally evil grin. My eyes were literally as wide as saucers. I just stared at them while they laughed. "Oh my gawd," I finally reacted. "You are such a bad b***h," I said while still laughing. "Well, that's what they get for messing with my baby," she said while waving her wand. Knock.. knock We were interrupted by someone knocking on the room's door. Laxmi opened the door, and her mom walked in. "How are you feeling now, honey?" her mom asked with a face filled with maternal love. Just looking at her makes me miss my mom. "I am fine, aunt Sriti," I replied. She placed a plate of hot chicken soup on the table and adjusted my body, so I could drink it properly. "Don't worry, aunt Sriti; I will feed her," Lucinda said. Aunt Sriti agreed and left the room. "You are not touching my soup," I said with a playful glare while Laxmi snickered at me. "And who is going to stop us?" Laxmi asked and grabbed the bowl of soup from the table. "Let's just have a taste," she said, and she started drinking the soup. Lucinda waved her wand, and a spoon immediately appeared. They started drinking the soup and eating the chicken while I could only watch and salivate. "What are you girls doing?" Aunt Sriti suddenly asked. We turned to look in the direction of the door, only to see her standing there with two extra bowls of soup. "Aunt Sriti, they didn't even let me have a taste of the soup," I said in an aggrieved voice while looking at her pitifully. "Mom, don't listen to her; we were only tasting it," Laxmi defended while handing me the almost finished bowl of soup. Aunt Sriti walked over to my bed and spoon-fed me the two bowls of soup. I rubbed my big, round belly after eating and looked at my friends with a mischievous smirk. As soon as Aunt Sriti left the room to make dinner, I was tackled down on my bed by Lucinda. "Who is smiling now?" She asked while playfully twisting my arm. "Please, my queen," I said as I tapped her arm repeatedly in surrender. We had a lively dinner, then we went back to the room and played some games until we went to sleep. At midnight, we were awoken by the screams of people in the village.
