I was dancing with Jake when he turned me and transferred me to my husband.
“Hey.”
“Hi.”
“Are you okay?” I asked.
“Better. Thank you.”
“For what?”
“Everything. But you know.”
I smiled sympathetically. “We didn’t need a repeat of the rehearsal dinner.”
He kissed my forehead, then put on a happier face. “Having fun?”
“Not that I’ve been to the amount of events you have, but I think it’s a pretty good party.”
He twirled me, making my skirt flair. “I’d definitely put this one at the top.”
“Why?”
“None of those fancy parties had you.”
“Sweet talker.”
He winked. “Though New Year’s Eve is a particularly good memory.”
