*The Truth* Chapter 10

Rain's p.o.v

I got woke up by Jackson grabbing me and pulling me into a hug with tears in his eyes. Um, Jackson, what happened and where am I? He then grabbed a blanket, blushing, and pulled it over me, me not even noticing that I was naked myself. I saw his eyes turn black. He then turned away from me, calling my father as he said he was going to do.

"Jackson, can you please answer me better, yet can I get some clothes? As he handed me my clothes, my dad walked in and ran up to me, also hugging me. I pulled away from my dad, still confused with questions in my head and waiting for answers. That's when my dad spoke. " Um, sweetheart, what's the last thing you remember?"

I remember having this uncontrollable pain in my body, but after that, it was all blank. Why, what's going on? That's when my dad and Jackson looked at each other and breathed. Jackson asked my dad if he could talk to me first before he told me what happened. He looked nervous and scared. I asked if he was OK, then he spoke. "Um, princess, there's something I have to tell you, please don't be angry at me, I won't be able to handle it." OK, Jackson, what's going on you are scaring me. "I um I'm your mate, the only reason why you don't know that I am your mate is that you're not 18 yet." I sat there looking at him for a while trying to process this but not knowing what was going to come out of my mouth next was a surprise to me as well as to him.

Jackson, it's OK I know, I've known since the movie, I just didn't say anything. I kinda like that you were so nervous around me. It just looked so cute and it was actually funny to me.

"What!" You knew all this time! Me trying to figure out how to make sure I kept you? he said as a smile formed my lips as I bit down on my bottom lip.

Um yea sorry, I wanted to let you know I had known at the party but you scared me. That's why I ran. I'm sorry. The next thing I know, he pulls me into a kiss and as I kissed him back he growled, but we were soon stopped by my dad. Now if we could get back to what is important, my dad said.

Well, before we do, I can take a shower and change, plus I'm starving. They looked at me and laughed. I went to walk but lost my balance so Jackson picked me up and carried me. As we walked out of the shed, the light caught my eyes and it was so bright I had to close my eyes. Jackson carried me to my room and sat me down on my bed. Before he left, he kissed me one last time and told me he would be waiting for me in my dad's office. I walked into my bathroom, I turned the shower on, and stepped in. I spent almost an hour in the shower. I got out and walked to my closet. I grabbed a tank top and some sweat pants and put my slippers on. I noticed how long my hair had gotten and was thinking of keeping it this long. It had grown almost to my butt. After I got myself together, I walked to my dad's office.

I opened the door to my dad's office, seeing him, my uncle, and Jackson's dad standing beside him and Jackson sitting on the couch. They all looked at me in awe. OK now, can somebody tell me what the hell is going on? Then I looked at my dad's calendar and saw that it was August already. I stopped and looked at everyone. Now somebody better tell me what THE f**k is going on. They all sat speechlessly.,. Any day now would be nice. Tell me damn it, I was becoming irritated and annoyed. So my dad started, " Rai you shifted. He paused for a moment. So, I shifted. What does that have to do with me missing a whole f*****g month? Well, remember the stories I would tell you about the special wolf and her pack? Yes, and? Well, that was your mother and her pack. At the age of 17, they shifted to a full moon for the first time. Since you are 17 and we had the party on a full moon, you ended up shifting. I was hoping that you were just late shifting and that you wouldn't have to go through this, but I was wrong. When a wolf of your kind shifts at the age of 17, it takes them a while to turn back into their human form. " So you're telling me it took me a whole f*****g month to turn back to my human form. What was I doing all this time in my wolf form? Well, with that being said, since Jackson is your mate, he had to be with you the whole time. I looked at Jackson feeling sorry that he missed so much just because of me.

Hey, princess, there's nothing to feel sorry about, you are my mate and I would do anything to be with you, he said to me reassuringly.

OK, so you're telling me that for a whole month you had me locked up in the shed that you made into a mini apartment? I asked them

No honey, you were never locked up. You were kept away from both packs for your safety and theirs but never locked up. You were able to roam free but your wolf never wanted to be without Jackson. So, to make it easier on her and Jackson, he decided he was going to stay with her. That is why it was built that way. If you didn't have a mate it would have been me or your uncle staying with you, but it was also if your mate had found you before you turned 18.

The only one who knows is Jackson's father and Izzy only because she got worried about you and Jackson., so seeing Jackson going in and out she got curious and walked in.

I didn't hurt her, did I? I asked, since we started talking Jackson didn't say a word until he saw tears in my eyes.

Yes, daddy, and that explains why I guess I said smiling at him. Now on that note, sorry to interrupt his meeting. I was hungry and with that, I was out the door before anyone could say anything else to me and in the kitchen, where Lisa, who usually cooks, smiled at me. Hey Rain, it's nice to see you are hungry? Yes, I am. Then I felt strong arms around my waist. Um, escuse me. I turned to see Jackson behind me smiling, "um can we take that walk in the park-like we were supposed to do"? I smile and look at him, um after you shower, eat, and get some rest, because I know you haven't done either. As we eat, he calls Mark to bring him some clothes to our packhouse. But, um, you do know you can shower and sleep at your packhouse, right? Ah, yea, but I don't want to be away from you. You have been with me a whole month. " That's not the same, I was with your wolf for a month, not you, he tells me with sad puppy eyes. I nodded in defeat and continued eating as he was on the phone with his father. I'm guessing talking about pack business I finished my food and headed to my room and changed out of my sweat pants into shorts and lay in my bed pulling the covers over me and falling fast asleep.
