*The Beginning* Chapter 1

My name is Rain Summers I am 17 years old. Today is the first day of summer and the first day of my new life as an adult. I stand at 5"2 and have long light brown hair with milk chocolate skin I can't complain about my looks the only thing is that I have unique color eyes, my eyes are purple I mean I always ask my dad where did my eye color come from but he never gives me an answer. I thought about taking a year off college and decided to work instead. My alarm on my phone went off telling me it was time to get up and get ready for work. So I head to the bathroom to take my shower, brush my teeth, and do my hair. I wrapped a towel around me, headed to my room, and picked out my clothes. I grabbed a black tank top and dark blue jeans. I got dressed and headed downstairs to the kitchen to see my dad making breakfast.

"Hey daddy good morning", I said to him as I sat down.

"Hey, sweetheart good morning, what are your plans for the day? Sadly enough I have to work today."

"What about you, what are your plans?" I ask him.

"I too have to work but later I am going to hang out with your uncle at the bar he said. Now my dad is the Alpha of our pack he's very good-looking to be in his middle 40s that's all thanks to being a werewolf. He has short light brown hair, a mocha complexion, and stands about 6"2 now obviously I didn't get my height from my dad.

As I and dad were eating our breakfast, there was a knock at the door. I'll get it I told him. I ran to the front door looking out the window. It was Jake, Jake is my dad's beta, also my uncle. He's just as handsome as my dad, he has short dark brown hair and a caramel complexion and stands at about 6"3 just an inch taller than my dad. He's nice when he wants to be. He hangs around a lot more since mom passed just to keep dad company. My mom passed when I was 8 from a rogue attack. She was a lovely woman, everyone tells me I look just like her from head to toe. I open the door, hey uncle Jake, what's up? "Hey, Rain where's your dad?" he asked. He's in the kitchen eating breakfast. I told him. We walked towards the kitchen to dad. hey, dad, I'm heading out I will see you later. Ok sweetheart I'll see you later.

I jumped in my car to get ready to pull off, but I realized that I forgot my work clothes and bag. I head back into the house and heard my dad and uncle talking in the kitchen. They were talking about some pack that moved two territories down. I wasn't eavesdropping, I just forgot my things in the kitchen.

"Jake I don't think that the Red Stone pack is going to give us any trouble". My dad reassured my uncle.

"Markus, we don't know that, how would it look when our pack realizes we have the other alpha close by". My uncle states to my dad.

"Jake don't worry so much everything will be fine for the Moon Goddess's sake. We can handle this, for right now we will need to keep Rain safe until we have more information so get the two most powerful warriors together and they will guard her until further notice" my dad said as if that was the end of their conversation. But little that he knew I had something to say about that.

"What!" I yelled at them.

"Rain!" they said at the same time.

"I don't care that I'm your daughter I am not going to be walking around with two men watching my every move," I said with my dad being an alpha, I knew how to use the tone and voice seeing that I'm the daughter of alpha and the most powerful one at that.

Then my dad used his alpha tone at me which he has never really had to do towards me. "RAIN EMMA SUMMERS, I KNOW YOU BETTER WATCH YOUR TONE WITH ME." I jumped at his tone. Everyone went silent for a moment, then he spoke again. "Rai sweetheart, I understand you don't like the idea but to keep you safe and alive, just until this blows over, ok?" he says to me.

"But daddy, remember the last time you had guards guarding me. I barely was able to use the damn bathroom let alone sleep." I said to him.

She breathed silently then began talking deep in thought, "sweetheart I promise the two that are picked you would barely know that they are there," he states to me.

I roll my eyes and pouted like a 6-year-old little girl that wanted her daddy to play with her. then my uncle finally said something since he was quiet the whole time not knowing he was mind linking two of the men as dad and I were talking.

"Sunny," he says.

"And what you thought I was doing I indeed was no matter how you feel me and your father love you deeply we just want what's best for you", he tries to get me to understand.

Rolling my eyes and sighing "whatever" I say to them and grabbed my things and walk out.

As I am leaving the house I see two men standing in front of my car. Smh is all I could do for right now seeing as though I'm almost late for work. I walk towards my car and one of the men opens my back seat door and motions for me to get in. Now I was angry, "DADDY"! I yell. he runs out of the house and right behind him was my uncle ready to shift.

"RAIN"! they say together.

"Now this is going too far, no one I mean no one is driving my car," I yell at them

"Well, sweetheart I guess you'll be taking one of the pack cars then". my dad states

"And you will be doing so until you stop acting like a brat, understand?" uncle Jake says

"Ugh, whatever" one of the guards left to get one of the cars and pulled up on the black escalade.

The other man walked to the car and opened the door for me with a bow. I roll my eyes and get in. We get outside my job I quickly jump out and try to make my way in when someone caught me. My guard, ugh the Moon goddess hates me.

After that, we walk in and Izzy one of my closes friends sees him, with a confused look on her face. Now, Izzy, she is 18 and has long purple hair hints to match my eye "lol" she says what are friends for. She has almond color skin and stands about 5"7. We have been friends since we were in diapers. She hopes that one of these days she meets her mate because she's over these boys she needs a man she constantly repeats it. One of them stands outside the other at a table near the counter.

Hey, Rai" Izzy said with a confused smile. I say hey back with an angry look.

"Um, did your dad ground you again?" she asked

"No," I told her.
