Unwanted Girl

1018 Words
“The Lady” is a title, one specially created, because while the Lady is the Alpha’s fated mate who gave him a son, she is NOT the Luna. When the Alpha met the Lady, he was already married to his Luna and had kids. But the Lady was pregnant when she found out about this, so she left him and raised Orion all by herself. Yes, Orion is the Alpha’s illegitimate son. Three years ago, the Alpha found out about the existence of Orion. The Lady took Orion back to the pack, reluctantly, leaving Lilith to guard their old home. Orion promised that he would get the Alpha to take Lilith into the pack in time, and they would be together forever. What a short forever. Separated for only three years, Orion took another girl into his arms, and called her gross for lusting after him. Bitterness fills Lilith’s mouth, making her stomach twist and her limbs cold. Mama Beth is the only mother she ever knew. The Lady said she would be her mother when she married Orion, but what if she never could? Who would she be to the Lady if she stopped being the one for Orion? His happy blessing not only buried ten years of cherished memories between them, but also tore apart her whole world. Just in one day, she lost her mate, her mother, and her home. “My Lady...” Lilith backs out of the Lady’s hug slowly, and all her complaints about Orion she swallows down into a different blurt: “I...I want to move out...” Where would her manner be, complaining about a son to their mother? It's an abrupt decision, but Lilith couldn’t find another way to go. She knows the Lady loves her like a daughter, but she doesn’t know how to face Orion again. Even just thinking about that name, old memories attack. She could see in her head so vividly how he begged her to give him temp marks; how he hugged her and rolled on the meadow when their worlds were big enough only for each other. How could she bear living under the same roof and watch him doing the same things with another girl? If he had told her that his heart changed owners when she came to the pack, she wouldn’t have stayed. It’s time to leave. She thought her home is where the Lady is. Guess she overstayed her welcome after all. *** “What happened today?” The Lady’s voice raises in the darkness when Orion just enters the door. His step pauses for a second before he turns around and enters the dark living room. “Why sitting in the dark, mother? It’s late,” His face is red from the alcohol, but his voice is sober. He answers tamely, but not at her question. “Your little lily came home crying,” The Lady rolls her eyes at his stubborn tone. The tone that says he definitely knew what happened, probably even caused it. She spoiled Orion, she knows. Beth lets out a sigh. But so what? Her son is the bloodline of an Alpha! He deserves to be raised a prince. He just doesn’t know how valuable Lilith was yet. He doesn’t know what she had to do to keep Lilith his, a sacrifice she could never tell him. Beth didn’t “find Lilith abandoned” in the woods. She stole Lilith from her parents. Back then, she was still a single mother with a young child, a rogue who barely made ends meet serving drunks at bars. She just got off a shift when she met Lilith, a little girl in a red dress so fancy that shouted a pair of rich and powerful parents. But those parents let their six-year-old running around loose, so it wasn’t her fault when Beth took advantage of that. In her defense, she didn’t plan any of that. She worked over night and got tripped due to lack of sleep, leaving a long cut on her forearm that bled badly. That was when the little Lilith appeared, like an angel, sticking her face hiding under her luxurious furry cloak out and asked if she needed help. Beth hated the little girl instantly. She was just as pretty and innocent, so why did the little girl get to be born into a rich family that could afford to not teach her that the world was unfair? But then when the little girl used her own blood to heal Beth’s arm, she realized she had came upon a rare treasure. Strong healing ability is what made werewolves superior to almost all species, so how powerful this little girl was when her blood could heal not only herself but others? So fast, too! That was when she decided: Lilith should be the mate of her little Orion. Her little Alpha deserved the best girl in the world. Simply by telling the little girl that her son was sick at home, Beth managed to trick little Lilith to go into the woods with her. She only wanted to take Lilith away but then Lilith tried to escape. That really scared Beth. She hit Lilith’s head with a rock, planning to sell the little girl instead. But then the luckiest thing happened -- Lilith lost her memory to the injury on her head. Beth couldn’t believe how smooth things turned out for her. But to put distance between Lilith and her real parents, Beth had to move again to another city. All her life she had forced only one ask on Orion -- he was to be the mate of Lilith. Orion took it well when he was young. He fell in love with Lilith just like she told him to, but then the rebellion period kicked in, and all he seemed to want was to fight her arrangements. “I know you are upset that Lilith came to the pack unannounced--” The Lady starts, and instantly Orion knows what happened-- What he said tonight found its way to Lilith’s ear.
