Orion and Hannah had registered together -- hand in hand -- and the reception table erupted around them. Among the young wolves gathered around, some looked on with envy, some with admiration; others whistled and hollered, while a few stepped forward to offer their congratulations.
Hiding behind Leo, Lilith waited and waited for the golden couple to leave until five minutes before the deadline, only to realize they weren’t going anywhere.
Lilith sighs at her bad luck as she walks over, but she stops Leo from following: “I can handle the registration by myself. You should get back to your duty.”
The truth is, she wants to minimize the time Leo spends in Hannah’s sight. Maybe Hannah’s interest in Leo was just a moment of passion, and might fade if she forgets his existence.
Leo hesitates
