Chapter 9

It had been a month since Alec had found Elizabeth. They were getting along correctly and enjoying their life with the other enforcers. Alec knew that Elizabeth was still adjusting to everything and didn't want to return to his childhood home in Europe. That and he knew once he did, they would be forever stuck there. Alec was enjoying his time without everyone judging him, and he knew that Elizabeth was also enjoying her time here. She may be the only female in the cave. However, Elizabeth fitted in well. Alec and Damien wouldn't let her go out on dark one exterminations, but she found her way in training the younger enforcers.

Alec and Damien were sitting near the practice ring watching as Elizabeth was training a few of the slackers. "So how are you enjoying the mated life?" Damien asked. "It is amazing after all she was born especially for me. There is not a moment that goes by that I am not happy. She shows me love, and makes me feel like I am the only male in the world." Alec said as he smiled. " Although the only bad thing is that my mother keeps trying to pressure us to come back to where I grew up. However I can't just make that decision alone, I mean I could, but the last time I tried to so that she was so mad at me. My angel is certainly a little fireball when she wants to be." Alec said. He then finally noticed Damien's looking behind him and was trying to point out something behind him. When Alec turned around, he saw Elizabeth standing there with arms crossed over her chest, glaring at him.

Elizabeth had been training the younger enforcers; however, when she noticed Alec and Damien sitting there talking, she excused the warriors and stood behind Alec with her arms crossed. It didn't take Damien long to see her; however, it took Alec a tad longer. When he finally turned around, she was getting madder that he never even tried to talk to her about moving back to Europe to be near his parents. Of course, his parents would want the two of them closer because they were the future of the race. Damien quickly escaped, leaving Alec and Elizabeth standing there. "Elizabeth angel, I was just telling Damien about how much I love you," Alec said with a scared voice. "Sure you were darling, let us discuss this in our room," Elizabeth said, grabbing onto Alec's collar and gently pulling him along.

Soon Alec and Elizabeth made it back to their room, and Elizabeth pushed him into a sitting position on the bed. She then sat on his lap and smiled. "Now, what should I do to punish you, Alec?" Elizabeth asked. "You my angel can do whatever you wish, after all, I have been a bad mate," Alec said with a cheeky grin on his face. "You have been, so how about No touching?" she answered with a cheeky smile of her own. "Now you know that I could never do that angel after all being my beloved it means that I cannot keep myself from touching you for more than an hour," Alec said, pouting. Right as he was about to kiss her, he stopped short, there was a different scent, and it was coming for Elizabeth. He looked at her, surprised, and then he carefully smelled again. "Elizabeth, why do you smell different than normal?" He asked, looking at her curiously. "I don't understand what you mean, Alec," Elizabeth said elusively.

Elizabeth was surprised Alec noticed. She was trying to keep her pregnancy a secret, after all, if Alec was this protective before he learned about it, Elizabeth was worried about what he would be like when he found out. She looked away from him and tried to crawl off his lap. However, he held her in a tight embrace. "What are you hiding from me, angel?" He asked. "Nothing Alec, I mean I'm not hiding anything, can you please let go of me?" She asked. As Elizabeth tried to pull out of his grip, she managed to get out of it, but as she got loose, she lost her balance and started to fall to the ground. Without even thinking, she quickly put her arms around her stomach to protect the young life. Alec promptly caught her before she fell to the ground.

When Elizabeth fell off his lap, Alec caught her, however, something she did catch his attention. When Alec noticed where her hands were, he immediately looked at her with a surprised look. "Elizabeth, are you pregnant?" Alec asked. Elizabeth looked away at that statement. "Angel answer my question, are you pregnant?" Alec asked again, looking at her worriedly. Elizabeth finally nodded then said, "About four weeks along." She looked up at him with hopeful eyes that he would understand.

Elizabeth looked at him, waiting for some reaction. He looked at her in shock, " In here, is our child?" He asked, gently placing his hand on her stomach. He put a little bit of pressure on her stomach, and sure enough, he could feel a small bump on her stomach. Alec looked back up at Elizabeth and quickly picked her up and twirled her around. "Alec, please put me down," Elizabeth said as she put her hands on his shoulder to steady herself while he swung her around. "But angel, do you know how amazing it is that you are pregnant with my child? This child is the future of our race. It is hope for everyone that they will be able to find their beloved. This is the best news that I have heard since I met you." Alec said, laughing. He quickly put her down, then said: "I have to tell everyone about this." He ran out of the room so fast that Elizabeth was still spinning when he left the room.

As Alec entered the main cave, he could see most of the men gathered there. He quickly found Damien, who was watching over a training session. Alec walked up to Damien, then said: " Hey Damien, guess what." Damien looked at Alec then turned back to the men he was working with "Alright everyone, go ahead and work with a partner. I'll be watching your progress." Damien said. He turned back to Alec, "Alec, what is it?" He asked. "The future is now officially secured," Alec said with a bright smile. Damien looked confused for a moment then it suddenly clicked for him. " Wait a minute, do you mean, that Elizabeth is pregnant with your child?" Damien asked, surprised. "She is true, the future with this new child is secure," Alec said happily. " So what are the two of you going to do now? Are you going to remain here for the remaining of the pregnancy and have her give birth here, or are you going to return to your home for the child to be born?" Damien asked. Alec's smile disappeared as he started to think about the future. " Elizabeth wouldn't be as protected here as she would be back at my childhood home. If I uproot her, then she will be madder than anything. However, it may be better if we move back to Europe. There I know that Elizabeth will be protected better, but she may not like the stifling attitude that is in that house." Alec said as he carefully put his hand on his chin, lost in thought.

Alec walked away from Damien and Damien couldn't help but sigh as Alec walked away. " Alec, the road ahead is difficult; however, you must be prepared for everything, including what is to come. The child will be the first born in almost 500 years. This child is the new hope that everyone has been waiting for Don't ruin this for everyone, Alec." Damien said as Alec disappeared.
