Elizabeth looked over Alec's shoulder as they walked away. She saw everyone's smiled as then she looked at Alec and asked: "Why exactly is everyone looking at us?" "Well, we are finally going to continue the mating process. Tonight is the night that I have been waiting for almost 500 years. The night I connect with my mate." Alec promised to hurry along to his room. "Wait, what do you mean by that?" She asked a little scared. "Well there are two parts to mating, the marking, then actually mating. Tonight we shall mate, and then forever, we will be entwined. Nothing will ever be able to tear us apart. Hopefully, soon, we will also be blessed with another life in our lives soon as well." Alec said as he gently placed Elizabeth on the bed and crawled on top of her. Elizabeth looked up into Alec's passion filled eyes. "I waited 500 years for you, and I am not about to let you go now my darling mate," Alec whispered into her ear as he slowly began to take his clothes off. She couldn't help but watch his hands move slowly to take his clothes off. As she watched, she felt his hands on her clothes. "It is no fun if I am the only one not clothed." Alec murmured as he began to undress her. In a short time, Elizabeth laid naked under Alec. She tried to hide her body with her hands and arms, but Alec quickly removed them and asked: "Why are you trying to hide your beautiful body?" "My body isn't that beautiful..." She replied, turning her flushed face away from Alec. Alec laughed then gently took his hand and turned her face back to him, "To me, you are the most beautiful woman in the world. No one can compare to you, not even anything in nature can compare to your beauty. No matter what anyone says, you will always be mine, and I will always be yours." Alec said as he kissed Elizabeth. Elizabeth lost herself to the passion of Alec running his hands over her body, and she soon blacked out because of the desire. When Elizabeth woke up the next morning, she was curled beside Alec. They were both naked, and Alec was still sleeping. She smiled at him, then began to stroke his hair. As she did, suddenly his hand grasped the one that was stroking his head. "What are you doing this morning, angel?" HE asked, sleepily opening his eyes slightly. "I was enjoying myself, but now that you are awake, I guess that plan is ruined." She answered, turning away in a huff. Alec smiled and then sat up. "Come here, my angel." He whispered as he opened his arms to allow her to crawl into them. He watched as she turned and looked at him with a pouty face. "What is it, my angel?" He asked with a smile on his face. "I'm still mad at you." She said, slipping her legs over the bed. Elizabeth then slowly stood up. "Why are you mad? I thought you agreed to this?" He asked. "I was fine with what we did last night, but I am more upset about not telling me anything about your life. How could you not tell me that you were next in line to become the leader of all the enforcers? How do you think that makes me feel when my mate hides something that important from me?" Elizabeth asked as she grabbed clothes and quickly put them on. "Wait for Elizabeth, and I did it because I wanted to protect you. I'm sorry if I hurt you but perfectly honest I was afraid to tell you. I was afraid you would reject me. Most females would die for your position, but they only want the position; therefore, I didn't trust anyone. Only Damien knows about who I am, well now the whole cave knows but none of that matters. If I have to give everything up for you, then I will. I will gladly give my position up if it means you are happy." Alec said, grabbing hold of her wrist to prevent her from going anywhere. "Alec, let go of me. How can I trust you when you can't tell me everything about you." Elizabeth asked, pulling her arm from his grasp. She then walked a little ways from him and looked down at her hands, feeling powerless to trust anyone at this point. She then turned to look at him once more "I would love you with or without your position. I would never pick a man just because he is meant to be a powerful man. I choose someone based upon how I feel, and right now, my feelings are hurt more than anything." Elizabeth said as she walked toward the door and left the room. When Elizabeth shut the door behind her, she slowly slid down the door and was sitting on the floor with her knees up to her face. She sat there thinking about everything when she heard a voice, "Elizabeth, what are you doing out here?" Elizabeth looked up, and there stood Damien. He was looking at her worriedly. "I don't know what to do anymore." She said as she looked at him. "Come on, let's get you something to eat, then you can tell me all about it." He said as he gently offered her his hand. Elizabeth took it, and Damien gently pulled her up to her feet. Soon Damien had gotten Elizabeth some food, and they were both sitting in his room. "Now tell me what happened." Damien urged. Elizabeth sighed then began, "Well, obviously, you know we finished what we started last night. The problem I am having with that is that before we had s*x last night, he didn't bother to explain everything to me. I feel hurt that he didn't have enough trust in me to tell me about his past. Now that we are bonded it is stabbing me like a knife every time I look at him. It just reminds me that he never trusted me enough to tell me anything. It pains me a lot, and he acts like it is nothing." She said, looking at Damien with tears gathering in her eyes. "It is alright Elizabeth, and I promise you that he didn't mean to hurt you like this. He loves you very much, and he places a great amount of trust in you. You have seen sides of him the probably no others have seen. He trusts you so much, and it is because of this that you are perfect to be his mate. Allow me to show you what he has dealt with." Damien said, placing his hand on Elizabeth's shoulder. Elizabeth was surprised by the hand on her shoulder, and when she turned around to look at Damien, his eyes were closed. When she turned around again, the room in front of her was no longer Damien's room. Instead, they were in a bar. "How is this possible?" She asked. "It is a unique gift passed down in my family, The ability to see into the past. This is the night when I first met Alec. There I am, and Alec is over there." Damien said as he pointed to a younger version of him and Alec. Many women who were vampires surrounded alec. "Come on, Alec, you promised us that you would show only one of us affection tonight. After all, it is your last night here before you are transferred to some unknown area." The blonde on his right arm said. Elizabeth was about to growl, but Damien stopped her. "Just watch at what happens." He told her. When she turned back to the scene in front of her, the younger Damien was standing by Alec's table. "Hey kid, if you're an enforcer why don't you start acting like one. We may not be able to find our mates yet, but that doesn't mean that you should be playing around with four women at once. It is an insult to your future mate." "Who the hell are you to judge me? It's my own life and no matter what the prince isn't going to find his f*****g mate so we will all be stuck mateless or with an arranged marriage." Alec said, almost growling at Damien. "I hold out for the hope that he will be able to find her, after all without hope then what are we but a bunch of puppets at least I still believe in him enough to give him my complete trust," Damien said, walking out of the bar. The scenery changed again, and suddenly, they were right outside of the bar. Damien was staring at the moon above them. He didn't even turn around when Alec approached him from behind. "Why do you have such faith in a slacker prince?" Alec asked. "Cause it is my job to believe in the next generation of enforcers. I know that he is going to be transferred to a remote area to learn about leadership. Even though he is about 250 years old, he still has much to learn. I am double his age, and yet I am always learning things." Damien said as he continued to watch the stars. "So you two met even before I was born and you have been friends ever since?" Elizabeth asked, looking at Damien. "Well, in a way I guess you can call us that more like rivals in the beginning. Like you know, my thoughts on humans were changed when I met your parents. But Alec and I were always trying to outdo me well you can see how that went. We were worthy rivals for about 220 years. And then he met you, and something changed in him, he was no longer looking at me as a rival, but instead a friend. I have to say though it is sad that I can no longer put him down in the ring because he is going to refuse to fight anymore, but that means how important you are to him." Damien said as he smiled at Elizabeth. Elizabeth looked down at her feet and said: "Can we go back to the present. I have to apologize to him." Damien smiled and said, "Gladly, let us go home." The view around the warped once more and when it settled Damien and Elizabeth were back in Damien's room. "Now go, apologize and listen to what your mate has to tell you, Liz." Elizabeth looked at him, and with a smile on her face, she immediately left his room to speak to Alec. "Alec and Elizabeth are going to have a bumpy road, but as long as they believe in each other, I am positive that the two of them can get through anything. Hopefully, with their blossoming love, there will be more males who will be able to find their beloved as well, and our population will come back from the brink." Damien said
