Elizabeth woke up the next night with a big stretch. When she looked around, Alec was nowhere to be seen. "Alec?" She asked, looking around, trying to locate him. She got out of bed and walked out of the room. Most of the men were sparing in the ring, and the one who was saving the hardest was Alec. As Elizabeth watched, Damien showed up from behind and began to speak. "He has been like this for about two hours now. Something must have happened because the last time I saw him like this, his parents were trying to force him to come home. He fought for several days straight the only way he stopped was by me convincing his parents to let him have more time here." He said. Elizabeth looked up at Damien, then back at Alec. She then walked forward until she was standing on the outskirts of the ring. She then yelled in a loud voice, "Alec, stop this right now. We don't have time for you to decide to play big strong caveman tonight." Everyone around immediately stopped doing whatever they were doing to stare at Elizabeth. Damien couldn't help but start to laugh at what Elizabeth said, then commented, "You have a spirited mate, my friend. I hope you can control her when she meets your parents."
Alec sighed, then said, "Yes, yes, I know what I promised. Go get some other clothes on and then we can leave." He told Elizabeth who disappeared to get better clothes on her body. Alec then turned to the men who were still in the ring "We will finish this later; I am not done with any of you." He growled. Alec quickly went back to his room, and without even knocking, he opened it. The sight that greeted him was one that he liked. Elizabeth stood in the room, naked from the waist up. When he saw that he couldn't help but smile. "This certainly makes my day better." He said. Elizabeth turned around and quickly covered her body with a shirt from the bed. "Haven't you ever heard of knocking?" She yelled at him. "Yeah I have, but I enjoyed the view," Alec said with a grin. Suddenly the alarm clock by the bed was thrown at Alec, but it hit the wall instead. "Next time, why don't you aim next time?" Alec said with a grin. Elizabeth grabbed a pillow and threw it at him, which hit him in his face. "There, now get the hell out," Elizabeth growled. Alec laughed and grabbed a shirt out of the closet, then left the room.
Elizabeth sighed and quickly changed into better clothes. When she walked out into the cavern, she saw Alec bragging to everyone and anyone who would listen to him. As Elizabeth heard what Alec was saying, she slowly walked up behind him and balled her fist up. Right as he was about to talk to another, she punched him in the head. Alec fell forward off-balanced, and when he turned around, rubbing his head. "What did I do?" He asked. "You are not supposed to brag about what you saw, especially if it pertains to me. I don't care if you say anything about my personality, but right now, I don't want to hear another word about what you saw when you opened the door without knocking." Elizabeth growled, staring at him. "But isn't it my right to brag about my beautiful mate?" Alec asked. "Not when it pertains to my naked body," Elizabeth said, starting to walk away. "Hey, wait for me," Alec said as he quickly stood up and rushed after her.
"Are you sure this is the right house?" Elizabeth asked. "Yeah we haven't heard anything from him, and this is the last place we were at. He isn't home right now, but if we turn the light on then when he gets home, he will know a vampire is in there." Alec said. "I changed my mind; let's go back to the cave," Elizabeth said, trying to turn around. "At at at... you're not going anywhere. We came here, and he will be back before long. I know you're nervous, but you need to face him." Alec told her as he grabbed her arm to prevent her from disappearing. "But Alec, how can I face him? He is my brother, and yet I was never able to meet him once. How can I face him and tell him I got into the very life he wanted to prevent me from entering?" Elizabeth asked. "It will be alright, no matter what I will protect you as well as love you. He could never reject you." Alec promised to lead her inside.
They had not waited more than an hour when the door opened again, and a voice rang out. "To those who seek enlightening, my home is welcome." "Those who seek enlightening thanks thee," Alec replied. As soon as he said something, a man stepped into view. When he caught sight of Alec, he was pleased "Alec, it is good to see you, my friend, Are you hunting a dark one right now?" The man asked. "No, today I came on another errand," Alec said, holding his hand out for the other to shake. The other grabbed his hand, then noticed a female behind Alec. "Ah, so you finally found her, huh? Congratulations man, you of all people deserve to find your mate." The other man said. "Well, that is what I wanted to talk to you about Ben. My mate... Is your sister." Alec said. Ben looked at Alec, then the female behind him shouted, "What? How could you bring her into this world? I did everything to prevent her from entering this dangerous war, yet you just casually bring her into this war. If you weren't her mate, I would kill you right now." Alec could help but flinch at his tone. "Oh yeah like I wanted to bring my delicate mate into this world," Alec yelled back.
Elizabeth had been silently standing behind Alec, and when he once again said that she was delicate. Her fist balled, and before anyone could do anything, She punched him in the head once again. "Ow, what was that for?" He asked her holding his head. "What did I tell you about calling me delicate?" She growled at him. "But that is what you are. You are my delicate little mate." Alec said Elizabeth threw another punch at him, but he dodged it and grabbed her fist. "My my my, just a short time ago you were cowering in fright," Alec said. "But that was meeting my brother when you do say things like that it makes me mad." Elizabeth countered wrenching her hand from his grip.
Ben looked at the woman in front of him. She certainly looked like his mother Terry, and she acted just like her as well. She was a small firecracker, and He couldn't help but start laughing. "Well I would do something to you, but my sister has it covered. She reminds me of our mother so much." He said, looking at the fighting pair. "Great just great, the one guy that I was hoping was opposed to it the most is the one that is accepting it." She muttered as she sighed. "Why don't like the whole bonded thing? Even if I didn't anything can be done by this time. You have been marked, and the only way to separate you two is through death. If one of you dies, then the other does as well. I wouldn't even consider doing that I would not want to kill my sister." Ben said. "A bonded pair is something important to the vampires. Hardly any male or female finds their real mate. To find a mated pair is something rare. Any female will hardly give birth to a live baby; the only ones whom I have heard of doing this are the Royals." Ben said. "Royals?" Elizabeth asked. "You mean to tell me that you don't even know about the royals?" Ben asked. "I haven't gotten a chance to explain everything to her... WE have been busy. I guess you can call it. She had to be stubborn and show off, then get herself hurt than our reconciliation then we came here." Alec explained. "What is so important about these royals anyways?" Elizabeth asked.
"Well, they are the leaders of all the enforcers. The male controls the males and ensures that the dark ones never rise as high as they once had. The female stays at his side and helps him. Of course, she keeps him in check and provides him with an heir. The Royals have never found their actual mate, and therefore, many enforcers have not found theirs as well. Once the prince finds his mate, then others should find their mates too." Alec said. "So you're saying that because you found me, the prince has found his mate?" Elizabeth asked. "Well, something like that." Alec said, "We have to be getting back; apparently, there is a celebration going on tonight that we must attend. We will be back again so we will see you late Ben." Alec added, placing his arm around Elizabeth's waist and pulling her in close. With a nod, Alec and Elizabeth disappeared from Ben's sight.
