“What?” Amber's shock was unmissable, and I'd have laughed if I didn't feel the same way.
But I willed myself to not express it.
“She was right in everything.” He continued in a composed, but sharp tone. “I'm actually surprised that any of this is like a shock to you when there's no lie there.”
“Are you seriously taking her side right now?” Amber was pissed, no doubt about that.
“I'm not taking sides, I'm just letting you in on what's right.” His tone wasn't loud or expressing frustration. Just… plain, flat truth, further leaving me wowed.
