"You look oddly good today." Sam joked Saturday morning as he strode in without a knock. "What's the occasion?"
"A party hosted by Mr Augen's friend." That was enough explanation as I wasn't interested in going deeper.
“Oh yeah, I heard that from mom.” He invited himself to the couch, while I buttoned the gray suit I had on which certainly matched the gray pants with shoes.
“So, are you taking Nora along?” It was obvious from his tone that he knew the answer.
“No.” A simple answer.
I grabbed my phone, pocketing it. “I'm taking my leave now.”
“Sure. I'll just look for another friend to disturb.” He offered a wink as I left my house to a car ready for the road.
