Elijah’s POV:
Strolling in the direction of Ellie’s store , flowers in hand and a box of chocolates. Pretty cliché I know, but I think she’ll like them.
Atleast it will soften the pain from her slap for my arrogance earlier.
I see the girl who checked me out this morning locking up the door and that stops me in my tracks. Where’s Ellie? Did she really ditch me, knowing I was coming? Did I come on too strong?
What the hell?!
I’m not a man used to rejection, normally females swoon when I demand to see them like that. It’s like I’m having them relive their bad boy fantasies. What’s her deal man!!!
I should turn around and never see that woman again, acting like I’m not good enough for her. She said I had a good face , her body screamed that it wanted me? What did I do wrong?
“Hey!!”, the bellowing voice from a few steps ahead of me brings me out of my internal rant.
“Hey,are you that guy from earlier , did you come to get Elle?”, this time she says it while walking towards me , that blush on her cheeks clearly tells me she is affected by my staring.
“What? Cat got your tongue?”, she smirks at me and for the first time I really look at her. Cute girl.
Blue eyes, petite frame, copper hair, and the specs on her face indicates intelligence. She’d definitely be my type— but for some reason I can only think of those green eyes that reminds me of the forest.
“Oh…”, I say after some time and she finally reaches me. After a pause I decide to answer what she asked of me.
“Yes, where is your co-worker? I thought I told her to wait for me and I’d get her at five? Does she always act this stubborn!”, clenching my jaw at the end of my spiel and the back of my teeth grinds in frustration.
This earns me a chuckle and the blush on her cheeks intensified.
“Shes my boss, she owns the store; She’s particular about who she spends her time with, especially when you ordering her around. Let’s just say she has a problem with authority.”
She’s a business owner. Impressive. Intelligent box ticked.
“Well, I wasn’t trying to order her around , just take her for a cup of coffee to get to know her. Why’d she leave early , scared to face me and reject me herself?”
“More like did you a favour not to, as I’m sure you know from past encounters with her.Elle just needed to go do some banking and left earlier for the day.”
So her nickname is Elle. Weird she’d have one—considering her full name consists of just five letters. Did I get this girls name yet? I could tell she is omitting something by the way her eyes darted to the side when she said ‘she left for banking’.
“Hmmm. Maybe you can tell me where she stays and I can pick her up from there?” Long shot.
The girl standing in-front of me chuckles like I’m stupid.
“As if I’d do that. Guess you going to have to try harder next time, maybe grovel a little more”,
She sways her hips as she trots past me with not so much as a glance behind her. I decide to shout after her…
“Hey, no other tips to win a date with this lady?!”
To which she stops and turns to say,
“Only good luck, hope your skin is thick enough. You are going to need God on your side”
I laugh at this and she proceeds to smile at me as she turns back around and walks away.
There’s not many woman who can hold a conversation and not fawn over me. Saying that even internally , makes me feel conceited but it’s been proven time and time again. Oh damn, I didn’t get that girls name, how rude of me.
Ellie is a true challenge though, I’ve realised.
She really is not like anyone else , I thought to myself, as I trudged my sorry ass back to my apartment. How do I get her to say yes to me? To give in , to what she clearly tells me with her body she feels.
Why do I care so much? Have I no pride at all!!

Kicking the pebbles in my way as I stroll through the park , my head facing the ground and the chocolates and flowers I bought for her bundled in one hand, I somehow don’t notice someone crossing my path in front of me with a shiny piece of metal glinting in my direction.
“Hey what do we have here? Seems like we won the lottery tonight boys”
Oh for f**k sakes , my night just keeps getting better and better!!! Every path I take seems to be leading to crossroads
