CHAPTEREIGHT

Few months ago... In the mystical realm of Arken, where the sun dipped into the horizon and painted the sky with hues of crimson and gold, there lived three warrior brothers. Their names were Gideon, David, and Peter, and they were as formidable as they were fearless. Gideon, the eldest, was a towering figure with arms as thick as tree trunks and a will of iron while David, the middle brother was just as formidable although he was a lot softer than Gideon and Peter, the youngest was a wild card, quite unpredictable. Although they could fight with bare hands, each brother decided to choose a specific weapon for themselves, one that differentiated them and put them above other warriors. Gideon wielded a battle-axe that shone like the stars on a clear night, its blade etched with ancient runes that glowed with an otherworldly energy while David's sword sliced through the air with deadly precision, leaving a trail of vanquished foes in its wake. As for Peter, his daggers flashed like lightning, striking with a speed and ferocity that left his enemies reeling. Their quest had began in Thergris, a sacred labyrinth cave where its two monolith entrance pierced the sky like shards of obsidian. This cave was home or rather had been the home to the ancient scrolls of Thergred. These scrolls held the secrets of the old ones, including secrets to immortality, how to bring a loved one back to life or how to get a second chance mate without the dire consequences coupled with unending riches. Thergris was something out of the ordinary. You see, parts of its winding roadways were lined with flaming flames, others with glistening ice, and some with the skeleton remains of those who had attempted to plunder its wealth. As the warriors approached the cave, a figure emerged. The triplets could only make out the silhouette of a female human which began to speak to them. "Greetings, sons of Thergred," she said, her voice like the rustling of leaves. "I have been expecting you but you can not pass. Only the Alpha King is permitted in Thergris, as you are well aware. Because you are infused with Ther's blood, I simply issue a warning. The shadow said as she slithered around them. After exchanging determined looks, Gideon, David, and Peter all spoke out. "We require Thergris's eye. In order to locate the scrolls, we require it. The silhouette chuckled and caressed Gideon's face. Although no body touched him, the eldest triplet could feel the wind in shape of a hand. "Find him, find Athan and you shall find the scrolls." Gideon said, "We do not know where he is," as his gaze followed the figure's path. "Seek out Athan." She repeated in a sensual manner. "However, good luck if you insist on going into Thergris." She chuckled. And just like that, she vanished. The brothers remained still, debating whether to follow the spirit's advice or to continue. Ultimately, they made the logical decision to go back to their pack. Only a thin thread of time separated the deep and lost mystical world of Arken from the human realm of Berar. It was a vast world filled with imaginable and unimaginable things. The centaurs, bush babies, the monster of Loch Ness, those flying monkeys, and most importantly, fairies of all types, were likely to be found here. And in this Arken, we could also find Thergred, the home of our wonderful triplets. Thergred was one of the largest territories in Arken. It was in the top ten after Xisis, the mermaids' homeland, which came in at number six. The most popular and sizable was Entik, which was home to the fay and the pixies, two remarkably unique species. Despite the fay's assertion that pixies were a member of their species, the smaller creatures did not share this belief and sought to separate from Entik. Despite having their own territory, Ent, the supernatural council had refused to recognise it. And then there was Sartos, the realm of Petrification, where the Gorgons, cockatrices, and basilisks lived, the last place anybody in Arken would want to enter. That aside, Thergred was the first he-wolf and Alpha King in Arken and his wife/sister, Thergris was the first female wolf and Luna. From that moment henceforth, their settlement was known as Thergred and their cave of secrets was known as Thergris. The three men rode back to their pack to deliver their message to their Alpha. They were led into the Alpha's office upon arriving at the pack house, where they delivered their message. Alpha Jeffery, the triplets' paternal dad, had given their comments a nod while carefully considering Athan's possible whereabouts. "He left you no message of any kind?" The men had asked their father who sat up. "Now that I think about it, he did mention that he was heading to Berar." "Berar?" Peter frowned. "What for?" David nostrils flared at the thought of one their own in the human world. "There is no good ending for any werewolf who steps into Berar. They either murder us or use us as test subjects. What was Alpha Athan's purpose in Berar? What could have been so crucial? Peter ranted in annoyed. "To find the scrolls," Gideon said softly, keeping his hands in his pockets. "That could be the only explanation, and now that I think about it, that spirit did say he would guide us to the scrolls." "But how could it have ended in Berar? How were ancient manuscripts that were inaccessible stolen and transported to Berar? "Father, your friend has to explain a lot when we locate him. Hopefully, we will also uncover the scrolls before anyone finds out." "Yes, he does." Alpha Jeffery noddrd then said, "I suppose that all three of you are going?" after nodding. The triplets nodded. "Ofcourse and as soon as you get back–" "–we look for our mate," they completed.
