The next day, after I made sure that Tristan was resting comfortably, I headed out to Elliot Realty. I took the beamer out of habit. When Daniel was in town and I had to go somewhere alone, I took that car. Since Daniel saw me build Fiona, she would be way too recognizable for him to ignore.
When I entered I noticed that there was a different secretary than before. While I was no friend of Ella’s, I did wonder what straw it was that finally broke the camel’s back. The new secretary had looked up expectantly at this point and gave me a very rehearsed and professional grin.
“Good morning! How may I help you?”
