The second Derek finished speaking, dead silence fell outside the interrogation room.
Ten minutes later, everyone gathered in the criminal investigation office.
They stared at the interrogation record, their faces showed a mix of different expressions as they chattered among themselves.
"Derek is their second-in-command, for crying out loud. If he got caught this easily, it's definitely another trap!"
"They've been getting bolder and bolder these past few years. Getting sloppy and getting arrested makes sense too."
"But what about the part where he said Jennifer was an undercover…"
Javier cut in, his voice cold and flat. "Based on past experience, no statement from any HS member has any credibility."
