'It's like she doesn't even exist.'
Greene's words replayed in my head as I continued to stare at him in confusion.
"What? What do you mean? How can she not exist, Greene? That's absurd!" I asked, and Greene shook his head.
"No, Thalia, you don't understand. No one's ever seen or heard anything about Tristan's mother. From what I know, no one really knows who his mother is. According to the stories I've heard, Atticus returned from a two-day trip with a seven-year-old boy out of the blue one day and told everyone he was his son. No one knows where he took him from or how he knew about him. He wouldn't tell anyone, and neither would Tristan.
