As he holds me tightly to his chest, I feel safe, even though my brain says that I shouldn’t. My brain is smart, but my heart is an i***t. So, to appease the worn parts of me, I keep my eyes open while I take comfort in how it feels to have his arms wrapped around me.
I am, after all, only human. And although he is a complete and total bully and a complete jerk, right now, he is treating me with so much tenderness and care that I don’t know what to think.
