Elowen's POV He crossed the room before I had finished speaking. His hand closed around my wrist, not hard, and he knocked twice on the office door. Ms. Vane appeared. "I'm requesting a half day," he said, in the tone that made requests sound like conclusions. "I'll have her back before exams." She agreed before I had processed that we were leaving. The cold outside hit after the closed air of the office and I breathed it in and followed him to the car without saying anything.
