Elowen's POV He went still for a moment, and whatever crossed his face in that second he put away before I could name it. "Not interested" His voice was cold and flat, with no room for a second attempt and it made my heart throb. He set me down on the bed and I propped myself up on one hand with a thousand things caught in my throat and said none of them. He didn't leave. He pulled the chair from under the dressing table, sat down in front of me, and after watching me for a moment said, "Elowen. We need to talk."
