Kane pressed both palms against the tree. Toria tried to toss some energy his way, but she felt it turned back on her. Oh, she understood now. Kane’s hands glowed for the briefest of seconds, and then—their gear was gone. He’d used Syri’s ever-so-handy “don’t look at me” charm, but tied it into the tree itself. Its life force would power the spell, and their gear should remain undetected through the night.
