Last time, Syri had ransacked Toria’s mind until she found the foundation of her connection with Kane. It had put her in contact with her missing partner, given them important intelligence about the Romans’ invasion plot, and entrenched Syri in both of their minds. If anyone had the patience and skill to tease out that connection and follow it to the source, it was Kane. With little ceremony, the room around Toria winked out of existence.
