The second we entered the ballroom, people immediately began approaching Liam with drinks and polite greetings. While exchanging pleasantries, he subtly motioned toward a dessert table tucked into the corner of the room. "They have the cheesecake bites you like over there," he said quietly. "Go ahead. I'll come find you in a minute." I hadn't expected him to remember something so small. The heaviness in my chest eased a little, and I headed toward the dessert table. Unfortunately, someone stopped me before I could make it there. Quinn stood directly in my path, her expression already hostile.
