Aunt Anita and Celia paused as they heard the footfalls down the hall. It came to a pause and the tension in the room grew. They turned their faces and were surprised to see who was standing at the door. Celia's brows curled and she tugged her lips. “Oh, what are you doing here by now?” Jacob's stern gaze shot at Celia and Aunt Anita. He looked drowsy, like he had drunk the night before, but was surprised and agitated why Aunt Anita was in his room. “And is that the way to talk to your husband?” He asked.
