Kahlis's heart rushes with fear and anxiety as she gets closer to the King's dorm. She is dressed in an opulent gown that accentuates her attractiveness, but she still feels imprisoned in a golden cage thanks to the maids' transformation of her appearance. With their triumphant looks, Timothy and Jábar appear to be making fun of her with their smiles. Kahlis is escorted inside as the King's chamber doors open. The only sound in the room is the crackling of the fireplace in low light. The King is perched on his throne, staring at her with a frightening intensity. He asks in a low, raspy voice, "What is it?"He comes toward me, stepping down from his seat, his eyes menacingly examining my physique."This one looks weak." He says, Again, with a low voice. Kahlis feels as though the King has given her a slap in the face. She experiences a wave of embarrassment and rage, but she understands she needs to control her feelings. She vowed to herself to show no sign of fear in front of this beast. She answers calmly, saying, "I may not be as strong as you, Your Majesty, but I have a heart and spirit that cannot be tamed." The king's glare sharpened, cutting right through her. He snarls, "We'll see about that," his voice brimming with ill will. "Kahlis, that is your name i presume.I will break you and rebuild you into a Feared queen ,one befitting king. You will follow all of my instructions after I claim you as mine." Though Kahlis's senses tell her to run away from this predator, she feels as though her legs are stuck in place. She is imprisoned in the king's lair and at his mercy, but she knows she has to find a way out. With a persuasive glimmer in his eyes, Timothy advances. "Your Majesty, please think about the advantages of getting married to Kahlis. She comes from a distinguished wolf clan that is well-known for its tenacity and devotion. By getting married to her, you will establish yourself as the strongest wolf in the area and acquire a stunning and knowledgeable queen." The King's expression doesn't change, but Timothy keeps going, his remarks full of conviction. "Consider the ties you will establish, the lands you will conquer, and the reverence you will earn. When Kahlis is on your side, you'll have an unmatched reign. You shall reign as this country's greatest king ever." The King looks at Kahlis for a long moment, looking for any indication of weakness. However, Kahlis remains unflinching, her gaze fixed on his, and her spirit unwavering. She is aware of the lies in Timothy's statements, but she also understands that she has to comply if she wants to live. Darius has a hard voice and narrowed eyes. "Timothy, where did you discovered this Kahlis. How did you get to know her and what is her clan?" Timothy has a dapper smile and a dishonest tone to his speech. "Ah, Your Majesty, in a little village outside the realm, I discovered Kahlis. She resided with her family, a lowly yet honorable tribe. I came across her while searching the area for deserving allies for your kingdom. Her strength, grace, and beauty instantly struck me. I quickly realized that she would be the ideal queen for you." The King's gaze seems to pierce Timothy's soul, looking for any indication of deceit. However, Timothy's falsehoods,His expression is steadfast and he sounds credible. Knowing that Timothy is lying and distorting the truth to fit his own agenda, Kahlis's heart is pounding with rage. She is mute even though she is itching to speak up. Kahlis's heart is full with mixed emotions while her mind is racing with recollections of the past. She remembers the terror, the anguish, and the fear that Darius inflicted upon her. She now understands that he is the father of her twins, Damian and Malik, as she stands in front of him. While Darius persists in questioning Timothy, Kahlis's mind shifts to her sons. She questions whether she ought to tell Darius the truth and whether he has a right to know about his own flesh and blood. But when she meets his eyes, all she sees is cruelty and darkness. At that point, Kahlis chooses to stand by Timothy consciously, not out of fear or coercion, but out of a desire for retribution. Her desire is that,Darius must endure suffering in order to atone for his own heinous deeds. She watches the situation play out in front of her and stays mute, keeping her secret hidden. Kahlis meets Darius's eyes with a steady gaze, her heart full of a renewed feeling of purpose. She will be the one to bring him down, and she will see it through. Now that the roles have reversed, she decided to see her self in charge of this game. With an obedient tone in his voice, Timothy bows low. "I'm grateful, Your Majesty. As soon as I have your approval, I will start getting ready for the wedding. Could you please tell me when you would like the ceremony to happen?" King Darius's eyes brighten with anticipation as his attitude becomes calculating. "Excellent, Timothy. I give my decree that the wedding will happen in a month. Make sure everything is prepared." Kahlis's mind reels from the unexpected change of events as her eyes widen in disbelief. A month, perhaps? Too rapid, too quickly. She feels as though political intrigue and dishonesty are carrying her away. She attempts to resist the urge to speak, but her voice becomes stuck in her throat. Timothy flickers his eyes in her direction, warning Glisten deep within them. Her fate is sealed by the king's words, which hang in the air. Kahlis feels as though she is a pawn in a power struggle that she never desired to engage in. "Leave Us" Darius said commanding Timothy and Jabar to leave the chambers. then with all intensity in his eyes he turns his gaze to kahlis. As the king looks at her, his eyes glowing with a frightening intensity, Kahlis's heart beats. As he gets closer to her, his methodical, sinister motions send shivers down her spine. She tries to take a step back, but it feels like she's anchored in place by her legs. Her mind is filled with flashbacks of the agony and terror this monster had visited upon her. The monarch speaks in a deep, husky voice, and his words are rife with hatred. "At last, Kahlis, we are by ourselves. It's been way too long since you avoided me." As he gets closer, Kahlis's breath catches in her throat, his hot breath on her skin. She is aware that he is staring at her and removing her clothes. The King's next words hit Kahlis like a smack in the face, causing her eyes to widen in dread,Anger and hate well up inside her, but she knows she has to control her feelings. She's stuck, helpless against this monster, and her only chance of surviving is if she cooperates. "Kahlis, you are nothing more than a vessel for my legacy," Darius says in a chilly, distant tone. "Your desires, thoughts, and feelings are meaningless to me. You'll follow my instructions and bear the heirs I require. Severe punishment awaits everyone who disobeys." Even though Kahlis's pulse is pounding with terror, she makes herself say nothing and lowers her gaze in a sign of surrender.Despite the fact that it goes against her nature, she is aware that she must play this part in order to exist. However, she secretly swears to herself that she will find a way out, and get back to the life she once knew and loved. Just then the doors to the chambers flings open,Making Kahlis's attention darts across to the newcomer, her eyes meeting the blonde wolf's sharp blue eyes. Charles, the King's beta, has a self-assured and devoted demeanor, standing tall and confident. She observes the way his eyes never leave Darius's face and the subdued nod of respect he gives the King. "Ah, Charles," a resoundingly appraising Darius remarks. "I noticed you came back with some positive news. Tell me how the mission is going." The King's face is always in Charles's line of sight, and his speech is crystal clear. "Your Majesty, the expedition was a success. The leader of the rival pack has been dealt with. You are now free to take over their land." Kahlis's heart sinks at the idea of the brutality, and her mind races with the possibilities that there has to have been bloodshed. Charles's eyes flit to her, staying for a second before moving back to the King, sending a shudder down her spine. Under those blue eyes, she perceives a calculated intelligence and a devotion that verges on fanaticism.
