Alex’s POV
After leaving the Alpha wing in the hospital, just outside the building, I turn around to face Mafele.
I feel bad for him. We have exhausted each inch of the old man. His face says it all. I will force him to bed early today. And if he refuses, I am sure I will have to find a spell to knock him out. For him to have a bit of sleep.
Black patches under his eyes make him look more like a sick person than a doctor. I do not think he has been asleep in days. He turns to face me and asks me the question that I am sure has been burning through him the whole time now. “What is going on?”
“I embraced my hybrid which powers. I am so sorry I hid that from all of you. I was stupid to think I wanted another life for myself. I thought this path was not meant for me, but for my brother.”
