Rendezvous

Chapter 4

It has been a successful week of avoiding the CEO, we hardly saw him anywhere around so our mission was pretty simple, I met my best friends outside the company, because we always went in together no matter what. For the past week we have been tracking ever single thing Xavier does, his time of arrival, who he meets, when he eats, what he eats, just to avoid being caught and to be in the safer side.

"CEO alert," Alexa said, and we quickly ran to the receptionist desk and hid behind it, Mr Caldwell then entered the building with his p.a David by his side.

"What are you guys doing?" The receptionist said,"Get off my desk, " she yelled again

"Shhh," Noah said to her with a finger on his lips, hoping she got the hint, but she didn't.

"It's either you leave here or I call security," the receptionist said. She really has a thin line of patience.

Alexa peeked to check if Mr. Caldwell was anywhere in sight.

"The coast is clear. We are free to go," she said, and then we all left the receptionist desk before she chopped off our heads.

"We now know he is always early no matter what," Alexa said while scribbling it into her notebook, where she has been writing all his activities.

Yeah, we have been stalking him all through this week. Just to be on the safer side, we knew what meetings he had outside the office, the time he went home.

We became crazy stalkers overnight.

We took the elevator and went to our department to find a really angry VP waiting for us.

"Mr. Black, Miss Brown and Miss Powell, you are late for the morning speech," she shrieked.

"The next time you come this late, I'll report to the h.o.d immediately" she threatened and went back to her sit, as if he would do believe her, she was so dramatic, so most of the things she says ate always exaggerated.

"So, show me the notebook," I said to Alexa. " What have you gathered? " I asked again, I was so curious.

She gave me and I flipped through the pages, she somehow managed to get hold of his schedule, i was so happy to have a best friend like her, she would do anything for me as i would,for her,so I now know where and where he will be that I shouldn't

I continued scanning through the book till I saw a particular date. "Fiancée announcing date?"

"Mr Caldwell is going to announce his fiancée to the public at the company anniversary party," Alexa replied, and I was shocked.

"He has a fiancée?" I asked

"Yeah," she said with a shrug

"How?" I asked again, how is it possible, who would want to be with such a scary person?, the person was obviously with him for the money.

"Literally everybody is talking about it, how did you not know?" She asked, I just rolled my eye at her.

"The news actually leaked to the media week ago, and now everybody wants to know who the lucky woman is, who gets to marry the handsome billionaire," she said

"I mean he his handsome, but not like my David, he is so freaking hot," she said, fanning herself with her hand on her red face.

"You are so dramatic," Noah said

"Get back to the story, Alexa," I said impatiently

"I said it already, werw you not listening, uh, the media kept pestering him to reveal who she is, his mom said he will reveal who she is on the company's anniversary party" she said

"How did someone that scary as xavier end up having a fiancée?" I said

"I know right, who would, wait? Did you just call the CEO by his name?" Alexa said with a blank expression on her face.

"No one heard, duh," I said non chalantly

We went back to working, it was nearly lunchtime when I went to use the restroom.

I was washing my hands when a woman came crashing at the wall, crying, she grabbed a tissue to wipe her face, her make up was smudged and her hair was a mess, wait,I know her form somewhere, I have seen her before, and I was sure it was recently.

Yes, she was the plastic face woman from the meeting. The woman Xavier ordered security to take out.

She brought out her phone to call someone.

"She promised me I could marry him, she f*****g promised me" she yelled

"He hates me so much, he always tells me to f**k off, leave his sight"

"Noo, I must get married to Xavier, I love him!!!" She screamed and my heart skipped a beat, I was scared for a second, why would she yell like that is she a maniac?.

She then left afterwards. Wait, she said Xavier, that is my CEO, I immediately ran back to my department.

"Calm down Halle" Noah said as I entered with speed.

"Don't tell me that, I have breaking news" I said

"spill it" Alexa said

I immediately told them everything.

"This is getting interesting" Alexa squealed

"we need to come an hour early tomorrow" Alexa said

"Hell no, I need my beauty sleep" I said

"Your choice" Noah said then we went back to work.

I arrived at office the next day, I did a small exercise before entering, I was in a good mood today, I greeted every single person I came across, even though some of them didn't respond, I didn't meet up with my besties today because they came an hour early.

As I walked toward the elevator I saw it closing.

"Hold it" I yelled as I ran towards it, when I got there I put my hand through it preventing it from closing.

The doors began opening again and I smiled, great morning.

But that quickly faded away.

I was looking directly into the eyes of Xavier Caldwell.
