Hae-in
For the first time in a long time, I don’t feel one-hundred-percent sure of myself. I’m all-in when it comes to India. I fell for her at first sight. None of this would be easy. Not with Jackson and the twins. Rudy and Lyric pose no threat to me at all, but the other three. I’ll have to watch my back. All three men have potent feelings for India and are concerned about her well-being. Two want to protect her due to their history, and Jackson will protect her because she’s his family. I appreciate it, but I know if they don’t accept me as part of India’s life, it would only make our journey together difficult.
I’m really going to do this.
I am. I’m going all-in for this woman because deep down she is my other half. We still don’t know everything about one another. It’ll take time. India can have all my time. Right down to the seconds. She’s stronger than she thinks and despite her loss, I want to give her everything her heart desires. Things weren’t going bad at all. Penny and Erica are sweet, and nothing like the crazy fangirls back home. They are realistic and down to Earth. They have a wholesomeness about them that makes me comfortable. I’m on the dance floor learning the Step moves with the Singleton sisters and both women dance well, and within minutes I’m following along.
“I think you’re ready to step it up.” Penny nods her head in satisfaction, but it’s Erica who steps in front of me and smiles brightly.
“All right, let’s put everything together. See how Anna and Jackson are moving? You think you can manage that?”
“Erica, I thought you were one of my biggest fans,” I question smiling down at her.
“Of course, Oppa.”
“Then you know I’m good at dancing.”
Penny grins. “Of course, you are. Now put it all together and show us what you got.”
It doesn’t take long for me to pick up the steps and together with Erica we move across the dance floor with ease. The movements are fluid and with the beat, it’s easy to keep up. The song switches to a song I had not heard in a long time.
“Oh, this is Gerald Levert, right?”
“Yup, this song is slower than the last one, but the same concept.”
“Understood.”
We continue to dance across the floor. When I look back for a moment to see if I can glimpse India, she isn’t there. “Where did India go?”
Erica nods in the direction to my left and I look over to see her dancing with a very tall older man. There is love in her eyes as she smiles at the man, and I know he’s someone dear to her.
“That’s Tiny.”
“Tiny?” There is nothing Tiny about the man. He is well over six feet and packing serious muscles.
“Yeah, that’s Indy’s dad. It’s because of him we have Step night.”
“Aah. Can we move over in that direction?”
Erica snickers and it makes me laugh. Yes, there is an agenda. I want to meet her parents and formally introduce myself.
“Sure, we can make it that way, but I doubt Tiny and India stay there. Her father is pretty good at owning the dance floor.”
We make our way over to where India and Tiny dance when I notice Vivian walks in with Kai.
