The morning light filtered in, casting a golden glow over tangled sheets and exposed skin. The silence of the room was thick, humming with the remnants of the night they shared—wild, breathless, unforgettable.
Clara stirred beneath the sheets, her fingers brushing against the warmth beside her. Before she could even open her eyes, a pair of strong arms slid around her waist, pulling her back against a solid chest.
She gasped softly as lips grazed the back of her shoulder.
“You're awake,” came Dominic’s husky whisper, his breath brushing against her skin.
She turned slightly to face him, but before she could speak, he rolled her gently beneath him. His body hovered over hers, his dark eyes heavy with sleep but darker with hunger.
“I wasn’t done with you,” he murmured against her collarbone, letting his lips trail slowly down her neck.
Clara’s breath caught when he kissed the hollow of her throat—soft, slow, deliberate. And then he sucked lightly on her skin, just below her jawline, sending a spark straight to her core.
“Dominic…” she breathed, her hands gripping the sheets.
He didn’t stop. His lips moved lower, marking her neck with a kiss that deepened, open-mouthed and claiming. His hand slid under the sheet, fingers tracing the side of her waist, memorizing her shape as if he hadn’t already done so the night before.
He pulled back just enough to look into her eyes.
“You look too good in my bed,” he whispered. “I might not let you leave today.”
Clara’s voice was barely there.
“Who said I wanted to?”
That was all he needed.
Dominic leaned in again, capturing her mouth with his. The kiss was slow at first, building like a promise, deepening as his body pressed flush against hers.
The sun kept rising, but neither of them cared. The world outside was quiet, but in that bedroom, heat pulsed like wildfire.
He kissed her until she was breathless. Touched her until her skin burned. And when he finally broke the silence with her name again, it wasn’t a whisper.
It was a vow.
