As the sky grew darker with thick, ominous clouds, Kirsty slowly awakened from her slumber inside the small chamber that served as her jail cell. The daylight had only just begun, yet a sense of impending rain weighed heavily in the air. Opening her eyes, she took in her surroundings, the dimly lit room giving off a somber ambiance. The events of the previous encounter with the rogues still lingered in Kirsty's mind, and she couldn't shake off the feeling of being trapped and isolated. She considered the cell more as a prison, a stark reminder of her current situation. Outside, the sound of distant thunder rumbled, heralding the approaching storm. Kirsty's keen senses picked up on the subtle shift in the atmosphere, sensing the moisture and electricity in the air. She knew that the rain would soon pour down, adding to the already gloomy atmosphere that surrounded her. She has heard from afar that the men were restricted to tell anyone about her identity inside and the order came from a high-rank individual. She sarcastically laughed as the treatment offer her safety, yet she is a slave inside the same place. When she was first introduced to her chamber, it was no different from her old cell in the warehouse. The only thing that makes it different is the fact that the place was huge and well-lit, even if it was underground. She was alone in the said place, and she wondered where the others are. She had been separated from them and had lost contact with anyone inside, but Kirsty knew deep inside that some of the women were enticed by the place and the presence of the good-looking people. It was undeniable that mere people have the looks that would make the men and women of the town look in their direction. There was something in them that effortlessly attract the humans aside from their well-built bodies and strengths. “It’s daytime already…” As Kirsty gazed out of the small barred window of her cell, her eyes were met with the sight of the brightening sky. The darkness of the night had slowly given way to the soft hues of dawn, painting the world in shades of pink and orange. The first light of the day gently pierced through the thick clouds, casting a faint glow over the landscape. Even if she had her own place, she was still locked inside. And she would only be able to go out when the outside lock is opened by the key holder. The only thing that she was thankful for in the place is a little window, that enable her to see the outside world if she peeked into it. She couldn’t even insert her hand into the window. She heard a loud noise outside, and she could infer that it came from a group of people who were outside her cell. She didn’t know for how many days she was locked inside, and people only came to bring her food, barely enough for her. The steel door creek opened and it revealed two big men. One held a chain and the other one held a plate of food. Kirsty was surprised to see that after they entered the place, the unexpected person followed the two men inside, and it was Sam. “Offer her the food before we proceed.”Same said and sat on the stone in front of Kirsty and looked intently in her direction. She hadn’t had the chance to take a bath for herself and instead, she was only offered clothing to wear, and it was not enough for her. She wanted to let the people inside know that she is harmless, but they already have a perception of what a rogue is, and Kirsty couldn’t blame them. Kirsty understood the deep-rooted prejudice and fear that the pack members held towards rogues. She had witnessed firsthand the violence and brutality that occurred when the pack clashed with a rogue. The memories of those savage encounters were etched into her mind, and she couldn't blame the pack for their wariness. She knew that her actions alone wouldn't be enough to erase their preconceived notions about rogues. The scars of past battles and the loss of pack members were still fresh in their minds. Their eyes held the weight of the pain and suffering they had endured, and it was reflected in their cautious gazes. “Are we going to give her-“ “Just give her everything you brought here.” Sam's interruption caught the man off guard, causing a brief moment of silence. The air in the room seemed tense. As Kirsty pondered over the mysterious actions of Sam, the man with the eye patch who had seemingly taken an interest in her well-being, her thoughts swirled with a mix of confusion and curiosity. It was indeed a puzzle that perplexed her, as rogues were typically left to fend for themselves, isolated from the protective embrace of a pack. Being a rogue meant existing on the fringes, disconnected from the support and security that pack life offered. Trust was a scarce commodity in the world of rogues, and alliances were formed only out of necessity or mutual benefit. Kirsty had learned to rely solely on her own strength and instincts, for the idea of someone, especially a member of a pack, extending a helping hand to a rogue was an anomaly she hadn't encountered before. Sam's actions had defied the norm, stirring a mix of suspicion and gratitude within Kirsty's heart. She couldn't help but wonder why he had chosen to protect her, to shield her from harm when it would have been easier to turn a blind eye. The rogue inside her recognized that such acts of kindness were rare, and there was usually an ulterior motive behind them. She knew that Sam had some hidden agenda, a motive that he had kept concealed from her. He hadn't revealed his intentions or made any demands, leaving Kirsty to speculate about his true purpose. Was he using her for his own gain? Or did he see something in her that he believed was worth protecting? The questions danced in her mind, fueling her desire to uncover the truth. It never leaves her mind the fact that the man protected her during the battle, and he also hid her abilities. “Including the clothes, we have outside?”
