Women served the freshly baked potatoes seasoned with salt and pepper on the kitchenware that they brought to the table. It was followed by a grilled beef tenderloin coated with herb, garlic, and pepper. Kani salad was also added to each one’s plate, while everything was accompanied by a coffee. It was a grandiose breakfast for everyone as there have been a shortage of beep meat in the city, yet the pack had been having a large number of stocks inside. The men thought that the serving was over, but a group of kitchen workers went inside and brought them a bowl of mushroom soup. It was like the pack is celebrating something but on the contrary, they were there to discuss the attack that happened which killed a member of them.

“Enjoy your meal.” The head cook of the pack personally entered the hall and greet everybody.

After finishing the set up of the food, the servers started to walk their way out of the hall as the smell of the grilled meat engulfed the entire room. It can be noticed that the men inside were enjoying what they were seeing and for seconds, they forgot that the Alpha was still not present in the area.

“Let’s have our meal, everyone.” Sam said to divert the attention of everybody from inquiring about where the Alpha is.

It is always the usual thing that happened every time Draken calls for a meeting, he is always the one who comes last. And no one knew the reason why. The Alpha is very particular about a time when it comes to plans for the pack, yet he always comes last.

“Why is the meal so grandiose I think we are celebrating something.” A man laughed as he put a slice of meat inside his mouth.

“It’s just we are wealthy!” Another one laughed.

Sam just stayed silent. He was observing the actions of each one inside. His mind couldn’t leave the thoughts of what was happening now that he left his mate with the rogue and some of his men in their household. Although Kirsty was harmless and he could feel it too, he knew how the minds of rogues worked.
