The night was so peaceful and every single step that he took is taking his breath away. Instead of stopping and regaining air, Draken took it as a chance to double his steps because the similar scent is pulling him closer to where it came from. He had high hopes inside, hoping that the woman he pictured in his mind is going to be the one he is going to find as he traverse the way to the source of the intoxicating smell. When he saw her walking down the path while holding something in both of her hands, a smile plastered on his face. And this time, he was determined to take her as his own. His inner wolf was so loud in his mind, begging, hoping for something that it had longed for quite some time.
The woman was looking for something and he knew that it has something to do with what she was grabbing in both of her hands. When she took her final step, Draken grabbed her and pinned her to the wall, resulting in the woman letting go of the two trash bags she was holding. She nervously closed her eyes, and he could no longer control himself, the moment she opened her eyes and he saw her deep chocolate eyes, he was lost in them and brushed his lips into hers.
“Mate,” Draken whispered, and the woman stiffened.
It was like the whole world just stopped turning and the only thing he could hear is the fast beating of his heart and the feeling of the soft touches between their lips. Now that he found her, he would no longer let go of her, the mistake that he did in the ranch that he regretted doing has been stuck in his mind. He was lost in the way their skins meet.
The woman didn't respond to his kisses and she was surprised by everything that was happening. She was brought into reality when she realized that she was no longer the bag of trash.
Kirsty can't move, it was like her energy was consumed by what was happening. He was holding her shoulders and they were breathing heavily. The man slowly put his forehead on hers and he closed his eyes, savoring the moment that they both were looking forward to. A moment of silence engulfed them and no one dared to utter even a single word, she was not against to it, and he heard the loud beating of her heart.
"I... have to go," she murmured softly, her voice barely audible. Every fiber of his being resisted the thought of letting her go, of losing the warmth of her touch and the taste of her lips. He wanted nothing more than to hold her in his arms and never let go.
"Where?" Draken replied, his voice filled with a mixture of concern and desperation.
"I... I have to throw these," Kirsty explained her words indicating the two bags of trash she held tightly in her hands. Draken couldn't help but smile, realizing that she was referring to the duty of disposing of the waste. At that moment, he understood that she was new to the household and perhaps even to the pack. Yet, regardless of her time in their midst, he was overwhelmingly grateful to the moon goddess for granting him his long-awaited mate.
"You are new here," Draken remarked, his voice tinged with affection. He took a step closer, relishing the magnetic pull between them. "But it doesn't matter now that I've found you."
She was surprised that the man knew. But she was scared of the possibility that her true identity as a rogue might be revealed to him, and the moment he would learn about her, she fear the fact that he could reject her. It was never in her intention to deceive anyone, especially the man who was destined for him by the moon goddess.
The woman was again saying that she had to go, but he stopped her. It was like he was electrocuted when their skin touches each other. Her presence is pulling him closer to the woman. The bond between them gets stronger as they stayed in position, facing each other, and looking deeply into each other’s eyes. Draken felt a kind of happiness that he hadn't felt from anyone, a different kind of happiness that the woman was the sole person who was giving him.
He could feel that she was still stiffened and felt something behind the expression she was giving him that Draken can't put a word into. He was quite aware that he could see and know every time he meet someone what they were feeling toward him, as the Alpha of the pack, but now, he can't use this ability with the woman in front of him, his mate, and the future Luna of the pack. It was still a question to him why the woman didn't even mention his name and called him the Alpha of the pack, which made him conclude that she was new in the pack and it was to his advantage as he wanted to let his mate know him beyond the titles that he has and despite the prejudices and hearsay about his character.
She was about to open her mouth to say something but Draken took it as an opportunity to brush his lips into hers once more. And this time, something erupted inside him as the woman responded to his kisses and she longer stiffens and slowly, touched his shoulders for support as she was leaning backward on the wall.
As their lips melded together in a passionate kiss, Draken and Kirsty became enveloped in a whirlwind of emotions. Time seemed to stand still as their desires intermingled, their hearts beating in perfect synchrony. At that moment, nothing else mattered—their statuses, titles, or designations faded into insignificance. They were consumed by the raw, unadulterated connection they shared.
Kirsty, overcome by the overwhelming surge of emotions, relinquished her defenses and surrendered herself completely. She allowed the walls she had built around her heart to crumble, embracing the vulnerability of being wholly captivated by the man she now called her mate. Draken felt Kirsty's surrender and reciprocated with equal intensity, his senses aflame with the taste and touch of her. Their connection deepened as their kisses grew more fervent, their bodies moving in perfect harmony.
Gone was the restraint that had held them back, replaced by an unyielding need to explore and discover every inch of each other. Their hands roamed freely, tracing the contours of their bodies, igniting a fire that burned hotter with each caress. They reveled in the intoxicating blend of passion and tenderness, lost in a world where time ceased to exist.
