Rachel entered her office with coffee in hand. Joe was gone when she woke up. He must have been extra quiet for her not to have heard him stirring around. After all, her sleep had been interrupted, thanks to Rufus. So coffee was in order for the day. Lots of coffee. Ignoring Loretta’s warning about caffeine, Rachel knew she needed it to wake up. But she was so exhausted, it felt like her legs were dragging behind as she walked. If duty didn’t call, Rachel would have gone back to bed.
