That evening, Detective France paid an unexpected visit to Rachel"s condo unit. Joe answered the door, because Rachel was in her portion of the condo. She came walking down the hallway after Joe called her.
She stretched out her hand to the man. "Hi, Detective. I"m surprised to see you here."
"I don"t mean to interrupt your evening, but I need to speak with you. Both of you."

"This is probably sounding like old news to you by now. Not a lot has occurred in your case recently. We"ve been watching the victim"s animal shelter for any clues as to who might have killed her. Recently, some news came to our attention."
