“I wish he was dead, but I do not want to kill him,” Edith sighed. “I just want him to leave me alone in our wedded bed.” Juan threw back his head and laughed. “That is not the first time I have had that request.” He caught the hurt look on Edith's face and the chastising one from his mother and aunt. He quickly added. “It is not enough that you put him to sleep.” He shrugged and continued. “When this old man falls asleep you must whisper in his ear that you have consummated your marriage vows. Make suggestions to him that he did not enjoy any of it. However, you must explain to him in detail what transpired, and when he awakes in the morning, he will actually believe it happened.
