Chapter 19Early the next morning Rachel and Nathan took a carriage to a house in the county. The doors to the house flew open and Libbie and Clara raced down the walkway, while Tiffy stood at the door holding a small child in her arms.
The two aunts greeted Rachel and Nathan warmly as they hurried them back to the house.
Rachel saw Phillip Nathaniel and held out her arms to him. He hid his head on Tiffy's shoulder. Nathan took the boy from Tiffy's arms, and kissed his cheek and hugged him. “It will only take a few moments, and he will warm up to you. Come,” he held his free hand out for Rachel, and they walked into the parlor. Nathan was right. Within minutes, Phillip Nathaniel was all over Rachel laughing and playing.
