Rachel had taken off her bonnet and dress during the night, and was just sleeping in her shift. She was starving and ate every last crumb on her plate, and even drank the bitter tasting coffee. Mary was an excellent cook, not like Edith's Mrs. Collingsworth. She pondered about the people she had met in her life, from Edith to Mary. There were so many wonderful and kind people out there. However, unfortunately, there were many evil ones, too. Rachel was dressed and headed down the hallway toward the steps when she heard the Count's voice.
